Episode 20 - A Day In Her Life with Liz Lidgett
Tell us what you think!!!On today’s episode, I had the pleasure of chatting with Liz Lidgett, gallery owner, art advisor, and mom of two about her days. I have been a long-time follower of Liz on Instagram, and I loved chatting with her and hearing about her passion for art and creativity. We talk about the ways that Liz prepares for her day the night before, how she prioritizes family time after school in the kitchen in a unique way, and how she makes time for friends during lunch. Liz shares some great tips for getting un-fun stuff done when you need to as well as making time for creativity, that we can all use. We discovered that Liz and I have very similar taste in books, and I hope she shares pics of her trip to France next year because you’re all going to be jealous. Liz is so vibrant and this conversation was such a blast. I’m still smiling and I’m sure you’re going to love it. A HUGE thank you to Liz for being a guest on the podcast! Be sure to give her a follow on @LizLidgett, @LizLidgettGallery, and LizLidgett.com.Links:AnylistBooks Referenced:A Court of Thorns and RosesFour Thousand Weeks - Time Management for MortalsBeartownThursday Murder ClubLooking for your next romance read? Mini Episode 2 - Books/Reading with Ellie
Tell us what you think!!!Because of the holiday week, this week’s episode is a Mini-Episode focused on books and reading. We might not always do mini-episodes on holiday weeks, but it felt fitting for this week.I was doing some reflecting on the episodes thus far, and one of the themes that has come up with a number of the guests has been reading. I believe I talked about it with Christina, Kate, Julia, Claire, Zara, Caro, and next week’s guest, Liz. I love love love reading. It is definitely one of my most texted-about themes with my friends because I love sharing a good book recommendation or sourcing one when I am in need. And since we usually don’t go too deep into books in the episode, I thought a mini-episode format could be a great way to share recs, and maybe get more from other guests and friends. All of the links to the books or apps mentioned in the episode are on adayinherlife.com, and I would love to hear from you on Instagram or (if you’re listening on Spotify the Q&A) where you get your book recommendations, which authors I should try, and what thrillers I should read.Looking for your next romance read? Episode 19: A Day In Her Life with Caroline Chambers
Tell us what you think!!!On Today’s Episode, Caroline Chambers, chef, recipe developer, author of the What to Cook substack, and mom to three active boys, joins me to talk about her days! Caro shares her morning routine of a workout and walk, and the importance of hiring people that treat your home and kids the way you would treat them, and outsourcing the cleaning so she can be more productive in ways that count. We also chat about the smutty/fantasy books we’re reading and how in this phase of life, happy endings and escapism are what we need instead of the latest Pulitzer winners. Caro shares how she and her husband (also an entrepreneur) completely separate from their work between 5-8pm making those chaotic hours less stressful, and they regularly do “Alone Days” to allow the other time to recharge in the way they need it best.A huge thank you to Caro for being a guest on today’s episode! This was such a fun conversation and I know you’re going to love it! If you like what you hear, please subscribe wherever you get your podcasts, share with your friends, and leave us a review. I have a ton of fun guests lined up for the fall, and I would love to hear from you on Instagram @adayinherlifepod or on adayinerhlife.com. Mini Episode 1 - Food with Ellie
Tell us what you think!!!This week is a bit different than the usual. Instead of a guest, I have a mini-episode into how I conceive, plan, and execute getting food onto the table for my family. I go deep. Like deep into the neuroses of how I organize my grocery list and decide which grocery store to go to as well as how I get inspiration for recipes for my weekly menu. If I am being completely transparent, which is in line with the ethos of and my goals for the podcast, this wasn’t the original plan for this week, but reschedules happen and I was excited to use this as an opportunity to test out an idea I have had to deep dive (like really deep dive) into a topic that we cover in an episode, but not to the depth and breadth we could go into. Other topics I have thought about and would love to hear your feedback on are reading/books, skin routines and rituals (products, botox, etc), and relationships etc. I am taking some guidance from our initial listener survey as well as ongoing feedback on the blog, so if you have thoughts, PLEASE share with me! I am hoping these episodes won’t be just me, but maybe follow-ups to our favorite guests about these specific topics as additional episodes some weeks! So if you will humor me, I would welcome any feedback on this week’s episode at @adayinherlifepod on Instagram or you can send me a message at adayinherlife.com. I also, as always, want to take a moment to thank you for listening. I feel incredibly lucky that this crazy idea I had has landed with you and you’re listening. I started this podcast to facilitate and encourage honest conversations about what we’re really going through on a day to day, and I hope that you’re feeling inspired to do the same with your friends and others you talk to every day. I am so grateful for the guests we’ve already had who have been so willing to share their days with us, and I am so excited for the guests I ahve lined up for this fall and beyond. If you have any suggestions for guests, or see someone and think, WOW, HOW DOES SHE DO IT? As always, please let me know at adayinherlife.com and with that, let’s get into the nitty-gritty of how I handle all things food in my house.Links:Molly Baz - Cook this BookDeb Perelman - Smitten Kitchen EverydayAllison Roman - Dining In, Nothing FancyCaro Chambers - What to Cook When You Don’t Feel Like CookingSmitten KitchenMolly BazNYT CookingDan Pelosi - Grossy PelosiWalden LocalDumpling DaughterWeCo HospitalityDeli Containers that will change your lifeLooking for your next romance read?
