Opes Partners
The Property Academy Podcast is a daily show that gives you insight, analysis and strategies for how to get the most out of the NZ property market.
It's hosted by Ed and Andrew from Opes Partners.
Ok, now for the legal bit. The Property Academy Podcast is for your general information. It’s not financial advice.
So the hosts aren’t telling you what to do with your own money. We’ve made every effort to make sure the information is accurate. But we occasionally get the odd fact wrong. Make sure you do your own research or talk to a financial adviser before making any investment decisions.

Listener Question – "What Would You Do Differently If Starting Again From Scratch On An Average Income?" | Ep. 336
In this episode, we answer a question coming from a listener of the show about what Andrew would do differently if he was starting out from scratch again on a modest income.
The main takeaway is that if you don't have equity, i.e. a deposit, that you've got to get one ... and you've got to build equity quickly. That would likely come from renovations and attempting to recycle their deposit as much as possible.
However, that would change if he already had equity and commitments. If you've already done the hard yards by paying down a mortgage then he'd focus on newer properties and building a portfolio that way.
