He didn't wear the hat, but Lennie still loved having James Bay round for dinner. The 'Hold Back The River' heart-throb joined us at mum's for Some Coq Au Riesling (thanks for the recommendation Mr McIntyre), a Passionate Eton mess and plenty of the most delicious red wine courtesy of James. We spoke about busking, his legendary Grammys performance, jumping up and down on a trampoline with Rosie Huntingdon Whiteley, writing his 3rd album and eating cold Heinz Five Beanz. It's season 10 and we bagged a podcast newbie! Mr Michael McIntyre - we knew we’d love you but now we are absolutely HOOKED! You have finally broken my fear of watching comedy, with this front row seat to your hilarity and three hours of laughing 'til we cried! From the moment Michael walked in (thermometer in hand), we did not stop laughing. We spoke about fridge habits, restaurant etiquette, egg-offs with his wife and his mum, excitable Rosé, trying to be cool for his children & food pronunciation! I tell you what I want....Sporty Spice in mum's back garden dressed in her best sports gear, midriff showing with a champagne in her hand. The wonderful Melanie C came over for afternoon tea, for a real life, face-to-face chat & it was such a treat. Melanie spoke about leaving home at 16, initially missing out on getting into the Spice Girls, being in the studio with the legendary Left Eye Lopez and how she can’t resist a Tommy’s Margarita. Mum made a delicious lemon drizzle cake with mashed potato (yes really) and we sipped pink champagne. Isn't it ironic having a zoom date with Alanis Morrisette? No - but that doesn't matter!!! This was a moment for us. Mum & I are both HUGE fans of this international goddess so it was an honour and delight to have her on the podcast.Born in Canada, raised in LA & now living in San Francisco – Alanis tells us about her upbringing, being a twin, her family life and her journey to success. She loves a bit of broth, grew up eating her mother’s Hungarian goulash & can’t remember what her wedding food was! We talk feminism, 'unschooling' and swearing along with so many other things.Alanis is currently celebrating 25 years of her seminal album Jagged Little Pill.
