On today's program, I played another lecture in a series I have been teaching on the differences between Lutheranism and other branches of the Christian faith. In this talk, I discussed the differences between Lutheranism and Presbyterianism. I gave a history of the Reformed church which developed into Presbyterianism, and talked about the differences between a Calvinistic and Lutheran understanding of grace and predestination. I apologize for the bad audio quality of the recording.

On today's programmed, I played a talk I gave about the differences between Lutherans and Baptists. This is part of a series of talks about the differences between Lutherans and other Christian groups. In this talk, I discussed the history of the Baptist movement, as well as some of the differences among various Baptist groups. I then presented the Biblical case for infant baptism in opposition to Baptist theology.

Discussion of lectionary structures and why some congregations prefer one- or three-year cycles. Exploration of the Gospel reading’s central place in worship and the symbolism of processionals and gospel books. Consideration of who should read Scripture and differing practices about women reading and children’s sermons. Notes on Alleluia, chanting, and hymn-of-the-day ties to preaching.

On today's program, Lisa Cooper was a guest host, as she interviewed Jordan about his new book Baptized into Christ: A Guide to the Christian Life.

On today's program, I discussed the Mormon doctrine of God, and its differences with Christian orthodox Trinitarianism. I talked about monotheism vs. polytheism, exhaltation to Godhood, theosis, Brigham Young's Adam-God theory, and many other important issues.

On today's program, I continued our discussion of the liturgy as we began talking about the Scripture readings. I spent the majority of the program discussing the nature and importance of using a lectionary in worship.

On today's program, I discussed the history and theology of Mormonism. I discussed Mormon apologetics, and the errors in their manner of thinking and argumentation. This should serve as an introduction for those who live in areas that are heavily populated by Mormons and aren't familiar with their beliefs, especially for those who want to bring the gospel to those who are in the LDS movement.

On this week's program, I spent the hour discussing a number of different issues surrounding the nature of preaching. I began with the question, "Should a pastor preach a sermon that is all law?" This led to a number of further questions surrounding preaching and law and gospel.

On today's program, I spent the hour discussing listener questions. We covered a variety of topics including closed communion, church fellowship, the words of institution, and much more!

On today's program, I was joined by my wife Lisa Cooper to discuss family worship. We talked about the three most important aspects of family worship: prayer, catechesis, and hymnody. We discussed the practices that we have used ourselves, relevant Biblical texts, and contemporary resources to help in this practice.
