Edufuturists #231 More Than Results with Will Goldsmith
In this episode, we are joined by Will Goldsmith, Head of Bedales School.
This was fascinating. We covered:
Removing unnecessary hierarchies
Promoting student agency and responsibility
Co-curating a community WITH students
Developing value to the wider educational system
Preparing students in school for specific academic curricula
Bringing your authentic self to your work
Will and his team announced last year about scaling down GCSEs in their school. It won’t take a rocket science to realise that this resonated with me & Steve! This has been mischaracterised as scrapping exams or arrogant ‘you must do what we do’ proselytising. The link to one of the articles is here.
Thanks so much for joining us again for another episode - we appreciate you.
