The young couple decided to switch gears and put in a ton of sweat equity and use their labour as the downpayment to build a house where they could live with an apartment that could help them pay their deals. They were hooked!
They’ve now built several small multi-family properties where they’ve used the BRRR model: Build Rent Refinance Repeat.

Natasha and her husband began their REI journey in 2006. They purchased a duplex in Oshawa. At that time, finding a property close to home that they could easily manage sounded great. Eventually, they started refinancing properties and got into Rent-To-Own deals. As their portfolio grew, they started their own property management company in 2017. In October 2020, they moved to Costa Rica since they have such a solid team in place, allowing Natasha and her husband to work remotely. They’re still both working full-time and they’re saving a lot of money living abroad.
