The Big Boo Cast

Well, here's our yearly podcast episode. The topics, as always, are varied: college baseball, working out, shorts, phobias, skin care, and Taylor Swift.Though not necessarily in that order.

Well, well, well. Will wonders never cease? It's been one year (to the day) since our last podcast, but the stars aligned and the computers behaved and the connections stabilized and we actually recorded some new content. As always, we feature some very sophisticated topics: Miss Mississippi, the new Dallas, hermit crabs, dermatologist visits, expressions that get on our nerves, The Bachelorette, Mad Men, and so much more. You might want to pace yourself as you listen, especially considering that we've been averaging a podcast a year. So if you play about 5 minutes a month between now and next June, you should be all up to speed by the time we record episode 23 in 2013. Oh, we are pitiful. Also, you should probably be aware that I sound like I'm verrrry far away for the first fifteen or twenty seconds, but it gets much better after that. Apparently it took me a minute to make the final adjustments to my microphone, which is hardly surprising considering what a well-oiled broadcasting machine we're operating. Really, we're just a hair shy of talking to each other on CB radios. And truth be told, that might be easier. But please do enjoy.

We recorded this one Tuesday morning.Right after I'd consumed two very strong cups of coffee.So I'm a little bit WOUND UP, and for that I do apologize.The good news is that this particular podcast is a total hodge podge of topics; we go from accents to The Bachelorette to politics to music videos to fashion to pageants and even more stuff that I can't remember.So all that to say: if you enjoy random, WELCOME HOME.

Melanie has a new modem.And we are BACK IN BUSINESS.As always, we hope that you enjoy all our rambling about nothing (Bachelorette, Christian radio, Friday Night Lights, hypochondria, trying to teach our kids the value of a dollar, etc.).And please excuse the animal growls that will assault your ears out of nowhere about 30 minutes into the festivities. I was having a little editing issue, but I finally gave up on fixing it and just inserted some growling sounds. It's just like they do on all those fancy national radio shows. Only THEY WOULD NEVER.Have a great day, everybody!

Oh, listen.We have to be the most reliably unreliable podcasters ever.But we're in the process of working out some ongoing technical ISH-AHS, and it seemed like now was as good a time as ever to jump back on the podcast bandwagon.Who knows? Maybe we'll actually crank out two podcasts this year.It's good to have a goal.

Yeah. We know. It's our first podcast in a year.  But you'll be happy to know that the last year hasn't done a single thing to diminish our collective crazy. Or our rambling. You're welcome and the end.

We are oh-so-delighted to have our buddy Travis aka FryDaddy with us on episode 16 of the podcast (2 years, 16 podcasts - clearly we are very prolific). And basically what we have this time around is a run-down of reality shows (including why we've given up on The Real Housewives of New Jersey), an itemized list of our summer TV plans, a thorough analysis of our sleeping issues AND a whole lot of discussion about how STINKIN' PROUD we are of Travis and his new CD. Add it all up and you have a big ole platter of our usual brand of random topped off with a sizable dollop of sarcasm. And we do hope you enjoy it.

Sometimes we decide to record a podcast because we want to talk about some specific things. Today we recorded a podcast because I had been in the kitchen all day long and wanted to pursue some sort activity that didn't require mixing a softened stick of butter with sugar. And Mel wanted to do something that wasn't watching the same episode of "Friday Night Lights" for the third time in a row. I'm telling you: sometimes boredom will just propel you into all manner of podcasting ambition. Anyway, this one is completely random (SO WHAT ELSE IS NEW?). We talk about my search for a birthday gift for my sister-in-law, our mutual disdain for coconut, Mel's hunt for a maxi-dress and how her shopping habits eerily resemble a woman I know who likes to sign cards and letters like this: Love, Mother "Martie." It's all very big fun. As long as you remember that the words "very," "big" and "fun" are completely relative.

We couldn't stand it. We had to talk about The Bachelor. Which led to sort of a late-winter-ish TV report card. Please do prepare to be underwhelmed.
