His Dad, Arnold Ahlman who also was a pastor, took a call to Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Northglenn Colorado in 1962. Pastor Dave grew up in Northglenn and graduated from Lutheran high school in Denver in 1975. There he met his high school sweetheart, Beth Klein in March 1975. Pastor Dave was married to Beth in 1977 at Gethsemane. From there they went to Saint Paul Minnesota, where Pastor Dave got his BA degree in 1979 At Concordia University. He then went to Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne Indiana, where Pastor Dave graduated with a Master of Divinity degree in 1983. Their first parish was in Tobias Nebraska, then Burlington Colorado, then El Paso Texas, and finally, the last 25 years Pastor Dave‘s ministry was spent as Senior Pastor at Peace Lutheran Church in Arvada Colorado. LCMS Pacific Southwest District President - Mike Gibson
Learn more about Mike Gibson - Prior to his election as President of the Pacific Southwest District - LCMS in June 2018, Mike served as pastor of Christ Lutheran Church and School from August 2006 to August 2018, leading the congregation’s vision of supporting, equipping, and launching people into mission locally and globally. Mike completed his undergraduate studies in Humanities at California State University, Sacramento in 1980, he is a 1984 Master of Divinity graduate from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, MO and was awarded a Doctor of Ministry degree in 1996 from Fuller Seminary, Pasadena, CA, with an emphasis on organizational pathology and leadership. His pastoral ministry includes service at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Huntington Beach, CA (1984-1987) and Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Milpitas, CA (1987-2006).Pastor Mike has been engaged globally in China, Southeast Asia, and India for almost 20 years. His missional passion includes helping the Body of Christ understand the growth of Christianity in the Global South and the beneficial influence that the Global South can bring to the church in the post-Christian Global North. His Personal Purpose Statement reflects this focus: “My purpose is to awaken within the Body of Christ a local and global perspective on the Mission of God and to influence organizational systems in order to free and empower them for mission fulfillment.”He is the author of Out of the Bleachers and Onto the Field – How to Witness Without Hang-ups (CPH, 1992) and a contributor to numerous periodicals. His new book, “Mountains and Valleys – Living the Christian Life” will be released by Concordia Publishing House in the second half of 2023.Mike was born and raised in Sacramento, CA. Learn more about Lexi and Micah! Lexi joined the LINC family in 2020. She is a life-long teacher and learner serving classrooms in urban and suburban settings for 15 years. She has her Master’s degree in clinical mental health, and has provided support and care to individuals experiencing unplanned pregnancies in Chicago’s South Loop and in Chicago’s west side. Her therapy work also brought her to Reclaim13, an organization that supports survivors of trafficking through life-on-life homes and therapeutic and spiritual care. She also served as clinician in the Emergency Department in the area of crisis intervention. Lexi’s mission work led her to begin mentorship and restoration programs in Chicagoland and Guatemala. She is passionate about holistic discipleship, worshiping an infinite God who cares for our intimate needs, body, mind, and spirit.Micah serves as Lead Pastor at St. Peter Lutheran Church & School in Arlington Heights, Illinois — the future home of the Chicago Bears! — the same ministry to which he was sent out of seminary 15 years ago.
