Ep 143 Interview Sessions with Pedro Andrade [Unknown Amazon on Vice TV]

On episode 143 I am joined by New York based Brazilian journalist and host, Pedro Andrade. After leaving Rio 20 years ago, Pedro’s career has taken him all around the world. In his latest six-part documentary, he returns to his home country and explores the Amazon. ‘Unknown Amazon’ is a sobering six-part documentary series following Pedro, as he ventures into unknown corners of the Amazon basin, a region vital to our planet’s biodiversity, meeting groups of people and cultures who share first-hand accounts of the environmental destruction they have witnessed to their regions and the issues they face as a result of climate change. I love how Pedro seeks to humanise the stories of the people who live in the Amazon as well as posing some solutions to the issues of deforestation, gold mining, palm oil and soy farming, animal trafficking and overtourism.
