WE ARE ONE

This week the WE ARE ALWAYS BETTER THAN YESTERDAY community turned ONE! I started the community a year ago as a safe space for people (especially me) to come and be themselves, be inspired and the opportunity to be inspiring. A community of likeminded people who believe in developing themselves and others to being better than they were yesterday. I shared that in one year, we had 346 members who had asked to join (no spam adding!) of which 90% were active in the last week. This tells me its providing a meaningful space people want to come which I love. We span 10 countries and the connections between our members has been truly special to watch. We had 33 WHY Wednesday’s, 29 Mentor Sessions, 2 WHY workshops, 2 book reviews, 1 group HIIT and 1 live find your WHY Session. As I tried to thank the awesome 40 contributors, I was flooded with emotion. Truly grateful and blessed to be surrounded by some of the most incredible human beings I’ve ever connected with. I shared my personal highlights and growth in the year and was joined live by lots of our members who did the same. It was the best feeling ever. Words can not do it justice. I am truly thankful to the community and am excited to see the people we become by being always better than yesterday. You can grow at lot in a year 💙

Interview Sessions Ep 20 with Amanda Thomas

Episode 20 of the Always Better than Yesterday Interview Sessions was with Amanda Thomas, owner of the House of Harmony. Amanda gave an incredibly vulnerable and inspiring WHY Wednesday in the ABTY community and was great to be able to follow it up with an interview and ask how she had turned her life around. We dug a little deeper into her purpose and the story behind that. I also explored how Amanda nurtured and developed her intuition. Being able to strip her old negative thoughts and feelings and replace them with a clear sense of who see really is, what she values and her daily affirmations have made a significant difference in her life. Amanda is an incredible lady and I urge you to check out the full interview either on Facebook | YouTube | Podcast You will definitely be able to take something away and find some value on applying it in your own journey 💙

Interview Sessions Ep 19 with Sonia McDonald

Ep 19 of the Always Better than Yesterday Interview Sessions was with Sonia McDonald CEO and Founder of LeadershipHQ 🙌🏻 The audio my end was terrible due to Facebook issues but here’s the thing. I was not going to miss an opportunity to speak with an inspiring role model, mentor, awesome human being and one of the worlds top 250 most influential females. No no no. So I kept smiling and hoped to add as much value as possible. Sonia wrote a book called Leadership Attitude which I love and was great to hear more about what inspired her leadership journey and what leadership means to her. I hope the talk inspires you to think and reflect on your own leadership and to pursue your potential. Brooke (Spidergirl) joined us toward the end and Sonia offered to send her a copy of her book Just Rock It. A book she wrote with her own daughter in mind. Sonia, thank you. I’m sorry the audio was terrible. It was a great pleasure sharing the space with you. 🇬🇧🇦🇺🙏🏻💙 For more of Sonia’s content head to her @soniamcdonald1 | @leadershiphq or leadershiphq.com.au

Interview Sessions Ep 16 with Katie Fankhouser

Ep 16 of the Always Better than Yesterday Interview Sessions was with Team USA freestyle kayaker Katie Fankhouser 🇺🇸 During the interview I was blown away by the mindset that Katie has developed at 16 years of age. We spoke about confidence, overcoming fear, training, competition, setting goals and being better than yesterday. It was amazing how kayaking has given Katie confidence and how that has impacted in other areas of life. I also loved the story Katie shared about the skippy rippy. A move she created whilst competing at the world championships. Innovation under pressure. True confidence 🙌🏻 Her final message was “do what you love” and I couldn’t agree more. 👏🏻 Katie was super inspiring and is definitely an interview you should check out and certainly share with any young people in your life. 🙏🏻 Head to Katie's Facebook | Instagram (Katie Fankhouser | @Katie.Kayak) for more of her content.

Interview Sessions Ep 15 with Chris Phillips

Ep 15 of the Always Better than Yesterday Interview Session was with my man Chris Phillips drummer of SCOUT KILLERS 🖤 During the talk we discussed Chris’ mindset when it came to pre show nerves, overcoming set backs and empty shows as well as diving into the creativity process of creating new material with his band mates. The biggest takeaway though is the power of doing what you love. Chris wouldn’t describe himself as naturally gifted and very rarely dedicated himself to getting better at anything growing up. He always had a passion for drums so when he invested in his first kit, this started the process of Chris truly becoming better than yesterday. It is by doing what he loved that motivated him to continually learn, practice, dedicate himself to his craft and keep going in the good times and especially the hard times on the road. Head to ChrisPhillipsDrummer.co.uk to check out more. You can find Scout Killers on all music platforms and ScoutKillers.com

Mentor Session #9 Leadership vs. Management Rant

In this mentor session for the WE ARE ALWAYS BETTER THAN YESTERDAY community, I share my opinions on the subject of Leadership vs. Management. You may pick up on my bias but I believe only one of these will change the world and only one of these will unlock the potential in others and that is LEADERSHIP. I hope you find the rant useful and would love to hear your view, opinions and stories of great leadership and management. Much love Ryan RyanHartley.co.uk Facebook.com/RyanHartleyABTY @Ryanbhartley
