#112 - Rachel Parcell - Recently Named #1 Social Influencer In Utah, Fashion Blogger Shares Her Journey As CEO of Her Own Clothing Line
Guest Bio:Rachel Parcell is a women's clothing brand specializing in feminine and timeless pieces that will be worn time and time again. The brand was founded in January 2016 by Rachel Parcell, of the blog Pink Peonies. Rachel's signature feminine, classic style has captured the hearts of women around the world and now she is bringing that signature style to life by creating a full custom designed brand.Rachel started her blog in 2011 and one of her very first posts featured a skirt that she designed and actually sewed herself (you can see that post here). At that time she only had about 100 followers but she let them know they could purchase the skirt and she would sew it for them. Quickly she realized her sewing skills were not up to par to create a piece of clothing that would fit another body type, other than her own.The idea of creating a clothing line was always something she has wanted to do from the time she was a young girl. A year after blogging she was offered a design job by a clothing brand based in Salt Lake City. There she learned what it takes to produce products. She was able to go to Asia and actually visit the factories where her designs were being produced. After a year of working for the brand, her blog began to grow so much so that she could no longer continue to balance both jobs. She chose to grow her own business and left the company. Fast forward two years, she was approached to create her own jewelry collection that would be set-up in the form of a licensing deal. She quickly learned that because she was not the one funding the business she did not have the final say in important business decisions, which ultimately led her to step away from the licensing deal. It was shortly after that she decided to follow her dreams, take a leap of faith and create her own brand that would be funded and operated by both her and her husband, Drew. After a few hours of convincing Drew, Rachel started designing her 'first' collection. It consisted of four different designs (2 skirt and 2 dresses). She hired a seamstress to help her create the patterns and samples but soon realized she needed more help on the manufacturing side than sample development. It was important to her to produce a high-quality product, with a great fit. After coming up against some stumbling blocks, she knew she needed to bring on a partner who understood manufacturing and was already producing apparel. She called her friend from the industry, Tan Safdar, and asked him if he was available for a lunch meeting. A few days later they met and Rachel pitched the idea to him, and from there Tan came on as her partner on the Rachel Parcell brand. Tan comes from a fashion background and owns a number of brands whose products Rach has worn before, so it was an easy decision to partner with him.Since that lunch, they've worked together tirelessly to create a brand they hope you'll love.

#106 - Chad Lewis - Former Pro Bowl Tight End Discusses NFL Career & Life After Football
Guest Bio:Over his collegiate career as a Cougar, Chad Lewis never failed to entertain and keep fans on their toes. The BYU walk-on started in 22 games and finished his BYU career as one of the best tight ends in the nation. The catch that first piqued fans' interest in Lewis may have been his one-handed touchdown grab in the corner of the end zone against Ohio State in the 1993 Holiday Bowl. But Lewis didn't fail in maintaining that interest. In the 1996 Western Athletic Conference Championship Game in Las Vegas, Nev., Lewis caught a 13-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter to help lead the Cougars to victory. The tight end was known for his soaring vertical. Lewis, who also high-jumped on BYU's track and field team, blocked a total of five kicks throughout his collegiate career. In 1995 he blocked a PAT against San Diego State. The subsequently blocked field goals came in critical moments against New Mexico (1994), Notre Dame (1994), Colorado State (1993) and Air Force (1993). During his senior year, Lewis led his team to a victory over Kansas State at the 1996 Cotton Bowl with five catches for 79 yards. That same year he finished the season second in touchdown receptions among the nation's tight ends with five. He was fifth nationally in receptions by a tight end (37) and ninth in receiving yardage (420). Epitomizing the student-athlete, Lewis also worked hard academically. Lewis was a three-time Academic All-WAC selection and was named an Academic All-American in 1996. He also earned a spot on the College Football Association All-Academic Team. Lewis ended his career at BYU having caught a pass in 24 consecutive games. The Cougar walk-on hauled in a total of 111 passes for 1,376 yards and 10 touchdowns. Shortly after graduating in 1997 with a degree in communication studies, Lewis signed as a rookie free agent with the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles. The three-time Pro-Bowl selection led all NFL tight ends in 2000 with 69 catches, becoming the first Eagle to exceed the 50-catch plateau since 1989. In 2005, Lewis made an appearance with the Eagles in the Super Bowl against the New England Patriots. Lewis is married to former volleyball All-American and Cougar Club Hall of Fame Member Michele Fellows. They have five children. Currently, Lewis works in Utah and serves as the NFL's Ambassador to Southeast Asia, traveling to China, Taiwan, Thailand, and Singapore.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Sex Therapist, she has the opportunity to work with individuals, couples, families, and groups. Many of the people coming to see her are wanting to improve specific concerns related to their emotional, psychological, sexual and spiritual well-being and experience. It’s not uncommon for her to hear feedback from clients that the process has been empowering and rewarding – providing them the pathway to desired insight and growth.Kristin's journey as a therapist has taken her to many different settings, personally and professionally, in a relatively short time. Early in her professional development, she enjoyed working with a variety of mental health issues, but she quickly discovered a deep passion for working with sexuality, religious concerns, and the intersection of the two topics. Before beginning her career as a therapist, she gained invaluable experience working as a case manager for a domestic violence shelter, serving on a homeless provider committee in Salt Lake City, and volunteering at the Rape Recovery Center through its Crisis Line and hospital response team. These experiences along with many others provided me with invaluable insight and clinical expertise in working with a spectrum of clinical topics. In addition to running a practice and working with my clients, she decided to return to school and is working toward a Ph.D. in Human Sexuality after being out of grad school for nearly a decade. The knowledge she's gained thus far has only deepened on her understanding of sexuality and gender; issues which, she believes, can impact nearly everyone to one degree or another.
