Happy Jack Squirrel races to a tree of hickory nuts before his cousin Chatterer does. They engage in a heated chase, with a striped chipmunk seizing the opportunity to collect nuts while they fight. In the end, they discover the nuts have disappeared and Peter Rabbit reveals a chipmunk took them.

 Christmas under the Snow is a story about a family preparing for Christmas. Mr. Barnes was making his last trip to town before Christmas to pick up the last things the family needed.
