Two strategies to get rid of the "shoulds" in your life
“Should” is one of the most problematic words when it comes to self-talk. I should go to the gym. I should accept this event invitation. I should call this friend and see how she's going, I should spend less time on social media.Shoulds are very, very unhelpful. They have the double whammy of making us feel guilty AND they don’t actually help us change our behaviour. So today I want to share with you two alternative words or phrases to replace the shoulds in your life.Visit amanthaimber.com/podcast for full show notes from all episodes. It’s time to challenge your rituals and routines
Are your routines still serving you? Maybe they were when you first made them, but are you still getting the same results as when you started?I’ve recently been revising my own rituals and routines in my day, week, and month. I’ve discovered that by mixing up some of my routines, such as my workout and weekly psychologist appointment, I’ve been more energised and productive. So I’m challenging you to take a look at your own routines and ask yourself if there’s a better way to achieve the outcomes you’re striving for.
