Ed Welch

Dr. Ed Welch is a member of the BCC Council. He is a counselor and faculty member at the Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation (CCEF). He earned a PhD in counseling (neuropsychology) from the University of Utah and has a Master of Divinity degree from Biblical Theological Seminary. Ed has been counseling for over thirty years and has written many books and articles on biblical counseling, including When People Are Big and God Is Small; Addictions: A Banquet in the Grave; Blame It on the Brain?; Depression; Running Scared; Shame Interrupted; Side by Side: Walking with Others in Wisdom and Love; A Small Book about a Big Problem: Meditations on Anger, Patience, and Peace, and Created to Draw Near: Our Life as God’s Royal Priests. He and his wife, Sheri, have two married daughters and eight grandchildren. In his spare time, Ed enjoys spending time with his wife and extended family and playing his guitar. Joe Keller

Joe Keller is a member of the BCC Council. He has served in Christian ministry and leadership development for over 20 years. Joe currently serves as the Executive Pastor at Grace Baptist Church in Santa Clarita, California, and teaches in the Biblical Counseling Department at The Master’s University. He received his undergraduate degree at The Master’s University, Master of Divinity from The Master’s Seminary, and Doctor of Ministry from Westminster Theological Seminary. He is also the co-host of “The Most Interesting Person in the World Podcast,” where they talk to complete strangers about life and the pursuit of happiness. Darryl Burling

Darryl Burling is the Founder and CEO of Biblical Mastery Academy and Chairman of the Board for New Zealand Biblical Counseling Association. Darryl spent 15 years in the IT industry, working in a variety of roles before beginning his theological education. He completed a Bachelor of the Arts in Biblical Counseling at The Master's University in less than two years and then graduated with a Master of Divinity degree from The Master's Seminary. He then went on to doctoral studies, earning a Master of Theology and a Doctor of Philosophy in Biblical Counseling with a minor in Biblical Spirituality from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Darryl has been happily married for 30 years and has three grown daughters. He serves as an elder and occasional preacher in his local church. Ellen Dykas

Ellen is the Director of Equipping for Ministry to Women for Harvest USA and a member of the BCC Council. She joined Harvest USA in 2007 as their first full-time women’s ministry staff. She has authored several mini-books, a women’s curriculum, a devotional, and, most recently, Jesus and Your Unwanted Journey: Wives Finding Comfort After Sexual Betrayal. Ellen now focuses on producing new content and developing training for churches. She received her MA from Covenant Theological Seminary and a graduate certificate in biblical counseling from the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation (CCEF). Disability Care Givers & Soul Care

Dave Deuel is a member of the BCC Council. He is Academic Dean Emeritus of the Master’s Academy International and Senior Research Fellow and Policy Advisor for the Christian Institute on Disability at Joni and Friends. In addition to teaching seminary classes and conducting interim pastoral roles, he serves on boards and committees that focus on ministry training and protecting and improving the lives of people with disabilities, including governor’s advisory roles in California and New York.
