Peter Desoto, a long time friend of Mike Peterson, takes time to go over the genesis story of Bitcoin Beach. This is a story about contrast. Back in 2003 El Salvador had the highest non-wartime murder rate in the world. Peter was here. When Mike Peterson was introducing the first people to bitcoin, Peter was here. When President Bukele invited Mike Peterson to dinner, but it turned out to be a rave experience, Peter was here. In 2007 Peter was helping build a medical clinic near the Honduras border when his team was confronted with some armed men. The short term results : a bullet in the neck, a helicopter, a closed down prison and an earthquake.
