McKirdy Micro Marathon (OTQ Craziness), High Mileage Perspectives, and Cereal Wars

This weekend we saw an astonishing number of OTQ performances with most them coming from the McKirdy Micro Marathon. We break down the event after two members of our team attended the race and witnessed the unique experience first hand. We also talk about high mileage weeks, compare those to training done decades ago, and what we can learn from those comparisons. Also, we have an intense back and forth about acceptable cereals. Truth but told, we inexplicably start the podcast with this topic... This episode features Lindsey Hein, Laura Thweatt, Tommie Runz, Peter Bromka, and Matt Chittim.

Chicago Marathon Recap, Women's Running GOAT, Fantasy Breakdown and Tiebreaker

The Chicago Marathon was a historic event and we could not wait to break it all down. Well, not all of it because there were so many storylines, but we tried to get to as much as we could! In addition to the racing we talked about Kofuzi’s quest to be the 1,000,000th Chicago Marathon finisher. We also did a recap of our inaugural marathon fantasy draft that was won by Peter Bromka. As great as that was, the real competition was about not finishing last. To that end, Lindsey Hein and Tommie Runz settled their last place tie on the pod with a joke battle (first to laugh loses). This episode features Kofuzi, Laura Thweatt, Lindsey Hein, Tommie Runz, Peter Bromka, and Matt Chittim

Chicago Marathon Fantasy Draft

Welcome to the first ever Relay fantasy draft! In this inaugural episode we do a fantasy draft for the this weekend's Chicago Marathon. In this draft each person drafted five runners of any gender or nationality. The entire field was ours to choose from. On race day we will do cross country scoring with the top three runners from each time getting points. 1 point for coming in first, 2 for second, and so on. For example, one team has the top male runner, the top female runner, and the second female runner, it would have 4 points. In this draft we had Tommie Runz, Laura Thweatt, Lindsey Hein, Peter Bromka, and Matt Chittim.
