Other Christians are maintaining their claims that it is an evil holiday that should be avoided at all costs. Still, many non-religious, or even satanists, embrace the day as evil. What if all of these arguments miss the point of Halloween? Also, a recent viral post about kids in MAGA-costumes being given laced-candy is nothing more than a modern legend about the razor-in-an-apple, something candy companies certainly profited off for decades, but which was nothing more than an urban legend. The way that people respond to the laced-candy story seems to be a political cope, just as the “Halloween is Christian” hashtag is a religious cope. In both cases, and in one way, we can witness the natural evolution of tradition and legend. Neural Networks and AI have a keen ability to generate the monster of HP Lovecraft, probably because these cosmic horrors are described by inconceivable colors, surreal visages, and non-Euclidean shapes. These are also often our descriptions of the underworld, netherworld, upsidedown, and spirit realm. We reach it in dreams, NDEs, via certain substances, or through other unintentional but natural methods. It appears that technology can allow us to tap into this world, too, implying that it is both a real place and an extension of the mind, perhaps another reality that consciousness can explore - or the backend of a computer program. The story of a young man who dressed as an SS officer for Halloween, and was assaulted, is the pulse of our society. In a time where a man can dress as a psychopath or murderer, a woman as a degenerate whore, an historical costume of fine detail is rejected with violence by mobs of hysterical, brain dead drones. Worse still, the man was charged with assault despite the woman he supposedly assaulted assaulting him on camera - itself part of another issue that involves double standards for men and women in society. It shows the acceptability of violence if it is considered justified and the violence against men if the same is considered justified. Hindu and Buddhist swastikas, or the Manji, are treated in like manner by ignorance. Otherwise, it’s perfectly acceptable to wave flags with a hammer and sickle that represent an ideology that not only killed hundreds of millions of people in the 20th century alone, but that is making a resurgence today with terrifying numbers of people demanding its implementation. Furthermore, these things have been blamed somehow on Islam when its founders were actually close to being exclusively Jewish. Similar reactions of screaming and curses can be found on the religious right when confronted by witch costumes. What is happening here if not the reactions of cult adherents? The huge rightwing backlash over the President lighting Diwali candles has exposed a new phase of collapse in American society and the rule of law. What were calls to ban Islam, deport Muslims, and prevent their entry, has grown louder to now include Hindus and anyone else not worshiping one narrow fragment of Christianity. For all those who, by the Constitution, defended Christian conservatism it is a huge slap in the face. Mostly because the right has quickly become the worst version of itself and exactly what the left accused. However, it appears there are other players here too. A recent education report card shows that a third of American students are so illiterate they cannot even comprehend the basic order of events in a single passage or summary. Mix this with revamped religious zealotry and you have uneducated maniacs ready to fight a holy war over texts they can hardly even read. The theme we are seeing unfold is that the United States and Constitution are old news and that all efforts should be focused on starting armageddon by blindly following the nation-state of Israel. The words of pastor John Hagee at the Christians United for Israel conference demand Americans to accept that Jews are not merely chosen but “above all the people on the face of the earth,” including the “United States of America.” This ideology aligns with an Israeli firm’s plan to target Christians across the U.S. with Christian propaganda in excess of the Scofield Bible. The firm is called Show Faith Works, and rather than it being yet another holocaust reminder, it is a Jesus and Israel reminder with mobile museums and workshops. If all other religions can be condemned, including certain sects of Christianity, by the natural Christian reaction, mixed with Judaic propaganda, to damn all but Jesus, then what remains of Christianity will be nothing but a puppet with an Israeli hand. Furthermore, the arguments being made against religions like Hinduism or the festival of Diwali are tantamount to children not understanding why they shouldn’t play in the road. Monsters come in many forms and each has its own definition and interpretation. Sometimes monsters are separate from other scary creatures and other times they help categorize them. In the pre-ancient world, monsters were natural disasters and phenomena, symbolized by Titans. We actually create Titan-like gods today when we name hurricanes, and we perform appeasement rituals when we advocate for green policies and products to stop the destruction of an attack. In the ancient world monsters were outsiders, people with birth defects, people who were deformed from an accident, people who were tall or short (relatively), etc. Today we take the tall and small alike and profit from them still in the form of entertainment just as they were paraded through royal palaces in the past in Europe. In the pre-modern world, the latter ideas were maintained but monsters were shaped into theological demons, largely extracted from vegetation myths and zealous-imagination. More modern monsters have been defined by movies, ecology, and psychology. Also, from Dracula and Michael Myers to Godzilla and zombies, science can explain just as much as the supernatural classifications can. Dracula sucks “life force,” Michael is “pure evil” that cannot be killed, Godzilla is the folly of man, and zombies may be formed by drugs or fungus. Horror is such because it brings the abnormal to view, by sound, children, clowns, dolls and the general “uncanny valley.” The fear of snakes and danger of electricity certainly contributed to Medusa’s ability, just as deer antlers contributed to the devil. Humans have also grown horns or tales, even in contemporary times, while some have suffered from clawed hands from ectrodactyly. Modern political and religious monsters are in abundance, too, and some are so vile they essentially suffer from clinical lycanthropy. Festivals of light are universal throughout all of human history and culture, no matter how distinct or separate the latter might be. The Hindu Diwali literally means “row of lights,” just like our lighted pumpkins and rows of Christmas lights, not to mention the traditions of Hanukkah, Day of the Dead, or the Hungry Ghost. Lights have traditionally been used to support the sun and its warmth, at the very least to preserve it in the end-times of the year. They are also used to assist our daily activities as much as they are used to help guide the dead, spirits and ghosts searching for rest. If unable to find the other side these spirits can become trapped. Is it possible with the universal abandonment of the old ways, and the degrading of them by major institutional religions, that there is a clogged purgatory of spirits trapped in agony? Could this at all contribute to the pain and suffering in our own world? The legends of vampires extend far beyond Romania and Stoker's "Dracula." Most are based on five major pillars: misunderstandings of decomposition and death, porphyria, rabies, improper burials, and either accidents or grave disturbances. The majority of these monsters can be repelled by garlic since it kills bacteria, fungus, and the like, including parasites. In some cases the vampire consumes only life force, as in China, though the idea of Qi or Prana (India), is found within the vital life-carrying substance of blood itself. Divinatory practices were an important part of traditional Halloween ritual. The veil between worlds was thinned by both the season transition and the close proximity of our ancestors to the spirits of nature. Surviving winter was a superstitious and hopeful affair and divination eased the transition, just as it provided comfort for the living and dead. One was either to be prosperous or die. Most divination was focused on marriage, from apples and cabbage to kale and nuts. The forbidding of divination in various religious texts, and the emphasis placed on the one true God, is a matter of perspective considering the Druids, with Christian symbols, held this God to be found in nature and sky. Divination today is often done behind a thicker veil and for less serious reasons. In 2025 it is even easier to turn to Grok or ChatGPT, perhaps one of a number of religious applications, to fulfill the spiritual need, consult oracles, and commune with the other side. However, this is leading rapidly to false prophets, psychosis, and paranoid delusion. Interestingly, up to half of all chatbots and AI driven systems are released in the fall months, and up to a third of all cases of violence or psychosis resulting from chatbot use occurs in the same timeframe. A recent ritual EDM show at the pyramids in Egypt takes the discussion to another dimension. On a stage set by two massive pillars and wire, a laser light show produced an enormous robot that broke through the portal glass on October 10. The show was called Quantum DJ and The End of Genesys, the latter indicating perhaps the end of organic evolution and the start of synthetic change. Whereas the Druids danced east to west in alignment with the sun, and the whirling dervishes in circles to align with the planets, an EDM show themed by the end of God’s creation and drug field orgy of mindless erratic dancing is sure to invoke the absolute worst from the other side. The AI apps that people believe have connected them with God have instead connected them with the black mirror and a world of death with no hope of internal salvation.
