David’s been away visiting family and stayed in a triangular-shaped AirBnB last night, so he kicks off the show by explaining that all to Joe. David’s realised he takes on a strange persona whenever he’s in a DIY shop or garden centre, which is something his wife Naomi picked up on recently when they were at their local B&Q. He thinks it might be connected to his old job as a gardener and what little knowledge from that time he’s managed to retain. Joe was recently invited to host the opening of some new tennis courts near to where he lives - and with his bold new ‘helping out in the community’ attitude, he enthusiastically accepted. So as that’s now happened, David wants to hear all the details from Joe and find out if he managed to maintain his positivity throughout the day. Spoiler alert, he didn’t feel hugely comfortable with the big comedy scissors he was given to cut the ribbon with. Joe’s convinced he’s already told David about his 50th birthday trip to Paris - but David’s not sure he’s heard the whole story and definitely wants more of the details. So somewhat reluctantly, Joe recounts his and Petra’s four day holiday, in as much depth as possible. But he soon gets distracted by a new pair of trousers he now regrets buying and then a growing disappointment that he’s not more dynamic when planning and being on holidays.
