Happy Half Hour #17 : Kari Sowers
My guest for Happy Half Hour #17 is Kari Sowers, a consultant to creatives and companies. She is an Intellectual Property attorney who helps her clients protect and license what they create. Kari is the host of Manifest Collab, a podcast and community for builders, makers, entrepreneurs and creatives. Kari first appeared on the Happy Hour for episode #64. It was one of those special episodes where I had this a-ha moment, realizing that maybe (just maybe) I was creative. It was never a word that I had assigned to myself, and Kari helped me to rethink that word and identity. You can listen to that show here. But today, Kari is back to catch up after adding another member to the Sowers family. We chat about the advice of making the habit before you buy the gear. Which, hello, I would have a lot more money if I had not bought 4 pairs of running clothes trying to make myself a runner. She shares about her dream to be a Rockette, her pet peeve involving clever spelling for businesses and what she values in her closest friends. I loved catching up with Kari, she's one of the most personally encouraging guests I've had and I know you'll love hearing from her again. {You can listen to the show HERE. And of course, I would love if you would share with your friends. Happy Hour #112: Tara Leigh Cobble
My guest for Happy Hour #112 is Tara-Leigh Cobble. She's an author and musician that possesses a unique trio of gifts: as a conference keynote speaker, worship leader, and singer-songwriter. She has spent the past decade touring internationally and has contributed to more than 2,000 events for singles, college students, women's groups, and youth groups.
Although she has been standing on stages for more than a decade, her passion in recent years has been behind the scenes, planting and developing a network of discipleship groups. Nearly 200 men's and women's D-Groups (Discipleship Groups) meet in homes around the world to memorize scripture, study theology, and pray together. "We like to call it the CrossFit of Bible studies," she says, alluding to the intensity, accountability, community, and ultimately the joy of being in D-Group.

Happy Hour #111: Jen Bricker
My guest for Happy Hour #111 is Jen Bricker. Born without legs and placed for adoption at birth, Jen is an aerialist, acrobat and a state champion in power tumbling. She has appeared as a headliner at the prestigious Palazzo Hotel in Las Vegas, New York’s Lincoln Center, the Shangri-La Hotel in Dubai, and the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo. In her new book, Everything is Possible, Jen writes about her faith, drive, and determination, and continues to prove to herself and others that nothing is impossible.
I loved talking with Jen so much. I think this episode may have more surprises in it than any before. I won't spoil them all, but I will tell you she casually mentions being on tour with a very famous popstar and she tells the story about discovering that an iconic American Olympian is her biological sister. How's that for a teaser?
I just know you're going to love this episode, love learning about Jen, and love hearing how God was so purposeful in Jen's circumstances to weave together such an amazing and powerful story. Jen has been so faithful in recognizing God's hand in her life and is using her story to make His name great.
To learn more about Jen and her journey, determination and perseverance, you'll want to grab a copy of her book: Everything is Possible.

She has been married for more than 40 years and has three adult children and six grandchildren. If you're in some need of some free counseling, scoot on over and give it a listen. Today, Elyse is back after the recent release of her newest book, Home, where she writes about the idea of longing for heaven and how (praise God) things are not now how they will one day be. Elyse is one of my favorite authors, and I am so anxious to get a chance to read her latest work. We also chat about how her childhood dream that had to die because she got pregnant, what she values in friendships and how much she hates cats on planes and dogs in restaurants. You know, the usual. Happy Hour #110: Amanda Bible Williams
My guest for Happy Hour #110 is Amanda Bible Williams. Amanda likes words and books more than just about anything. She holds bachelor’s degrees in English and psychology, nearly a master’s in religion, and a deep love for a farmhouse east of Nashville, Tennessee, where she lives with her husband and their three children. Chief Content Officer of She Reads Truth, Amanda spends her days happily rearranging sentences and explaining that her maiden name really is Bible.
Amanda was such a delight to chat with on today's episode. She and Raechel Myers have something really special going on over at She Reads Truth, where they're making Bible study approachable and accessible for everyday women. Her love for the Bible is seriously contagious. If you're anything like me, after listening to our conversation, you'll want to make yourself a fresh cup of coffee, grab your Bible and a journal and spend some time in God's word.
She and Raechel have just published their first "book book". I cried all the way through Chapter 7, and was so encouraged at the same time. She Reads Truth is on shelves now, so make sure to grab a copy.
You know we try to keep things real around the Happy Hour, so pardon my weepiness in this episode. We'll be back with lots of giggles in the shows to come.
