If You Only Knew #2: Heather MacFadyen
Heather’s If You Only Knew is how she has struggled with anger. Heather shares how she wasn’t an angry person growing up, but began struggling more and more with feelings of anger. Through prayers, sharing with community, and counseling God helped her see it wasn’t anger she struggled with, but fear. I know I was encouraged when she said “admit you’re struggling and know that it doesn’t identify you at your core”.

She is passionately dedicated to serving the Lord and is the founder of Revelation Wellness, a nonprofit ministry dedicated to educating and inspiring people to live healthy and whole lives in Christ.
I just know you guys are going to love my conversation with Alisa. We talk about how her relationship with Jesus began and took a serious toll on her marriage. Alisa shares how God redeemed her marriage and how she and her husband are both living lives surrendered to Jesus. You'll also hear about Alisa's decision to have her breast implants removed. If you want to read more about that story, you can do so here. We talk all about holistic health and what motivates us and what drags us down.
In her new book, The Wellness Revelation: Lose What Weighs You Down So You Can Love, God, Yourself, and Others, Alisa takes an in depth look at what it means to be transformed by God’s love, from the inside-out. After our conversation, I know you'll want to go check that out.

She believes every day life should be lovely, and is on a mission to make all of life’s normal activities just a little bit more magical - from paper goods to her new apparel line. On behalf of all of us that love our May Designs books, we're glad she continued moving forward with her business.
The final part of our show was powerful as Mica and I discussed the moments when she was told that her son had Down's Syndrome. Her thoughts on borrowing grief and guilt were moving to me, and I'll never forget our conversation. I know that you'll love the show!

Happy Hour #172: Rachel & Polly
My guests for The Happy Hour #172 are Polly Conner and Rachel Tiemeyer from Thriving Home blog, where they write about parenting, recipes, and most importantly freezer cooking. They've just released their first cookbook, From Freezer to Table. After listening to our conversation, I just know you're going to be so inspired to go grab a copy and take a good swing at this freezer cooking movement.
I was so intrigued with these ladies for a few reasons. First, they are women just like you and me chasing their dreams and making them happen. They have real lives, families and normal hurdles that we're all trying to navigate. Secondly, they are providing great recipes with whole foods that you will feel confident in serving your family. And lastly, freezer cooking - tell me more! In today's show, you'll hear all about freezer cooking - the myths, the advantages, and how to start a freezer club.
At the end of our conversation, Polly and Rachel share about walking through suffering within their families and with their kids. If you are suffering or know someone that is, I think our conversation will be such an encouragement to you.

Happy Hour #170: Tricia Goyer
My guest for The Happy Hour #170 is Tricia Goyer. Tricia is a USA Today best-selling author of 70 books, a wife, mom of 10, and host of her podcast Walk It Out. Tricia lives near Little Rock, Arkansas where she leads a teen mom support group.
Tricia and I cover just about everything today. We talk about abortion, teen pregnancy, how she had a 2-week-old baby on her first date with her husband (!!!!), adoption, mothering 10 kids, writing an unbelievable amount of books, feeding 11 people every day and somehow managing all of it with a lot of grace.
Finally, we talk about how easy it is to believe that our experiences and sin define us and disqualify us, but Tricia has been so faithful to use her experiences with abortion and teen pregnancy to now minister to other women in similar circumstances.

Happy Hour #169: Kat Lee
My guest for The Happy Hour #169 is my friend, Kat Lee. Kat is passionate about teaching others how to jump-start each day with a grace-filled, life-giving morning routine. She and her husband, Jimmy, live in Waco, Texas, with their three children. She is a writer, speaker, podcaster and founder of HelloMornings.org.
On today's show, Kat and I talk about podcasting, our new favorite shows and how she has earned the title of being my Podcast Mom. Kat shares about her new book, Hello Mornings. She's super passionate about waking up for your life, rather than to your life and she's taken the time to write about it. If you're anything like me, this conversation might be a tiny bit convicting to a comfort idol that begs for me to stay in bed as long as possible. Kat shares about her experience in learning to wake up earlier than she had to, to meet with God and get her head on straight. Her book tells of her journey and about getting the most out of your sleep.
I am such a big fan of Kat and the work that she is doing. Make sure to hop over and pre-order a copy of Hello Mornings for you and a friend.

Happy Hour #168: Abbie Kampman
My guest for The Happy Hour #168 is Abbie Kampman. Abbie is a Midwestern "city" girl and mother of four boys just outside Des Moines, Iowa. She's a bookworm, a coffee snob, a mountain-lover, and a passionate pursuer of deep relationships built over shared stories.
Abbie joins me today to share her story of losing her mom and stepsisters in a tragic drunk driving accident. The accident happened when she was 13 years old, and she is finally feeling freedom to share her story. I am over-the-moon proud of her for having the courage to share. It may not be anything like your story, but I am confident you will love hearing how the Lord has used and redeemed her story, and may just see a little bit of yourself in her as well.
I will warn you that today's interview may not be appropriate for the the children in your life. Abbie shares some details about the accident that you may want to wait to listen to without any little ears.
