5 Ways to Forgive Someone Who Wronged You | Einzelgänger
5 Ways to Forgive Someone Who Wronged You
Resentment hurts. It can eat us up from the inside. Somehow we believe that the only way to rid ourselves of resentment is when some form of retaliation occurs. But this may never happen. And so, we run the risk of spending the majority of our lives suffering past hurts while our enemies flourish. As Viktor Frankl wisely stated: “When we are no longer able to change a situation we are challenged to change ourselves.” End quote. We can’t change the past, and we can’t change others. Our mental wellbeing doesn’t depend on whether or not we get revenge or receive an apology. It depends on how we handle the pain inflicted on us. So, we have a choice. We can choose to stay attached to old hurts and take our suffering into the grave. Or we can choose to take the antidote and let go of our suffering, so we spend the rest of our lives without the heavy burden of resentment. This antidote has a name: forgiveness. This video (5 Ways to Forgive Someone Who Wronged You) explores five healthy ways to forgive and let go, based on philosophy and psychology.Support the channel:

Can we be Happy without Friends? | The Social Minimalist
A minimalist lifestyle concerns itself with minimizing the number of material resources we need to be satisfied. A tremendous benefit of this approach is the reduced cost of living. The less we need, the more time, money, and energy we save. So, can we also apply minimalism to our social connections to gain the same benefits? Can we be happy with a minimal amount of friends, or even without friends? This video explores the benefits and downsides of friendship, the current state of friendships, and if we actually need friends. The Social Minimalist | Can we be Happy without Friends?Relevant links:

Stop Worrying About the Outcome (Law of Reverse Effect) | Einzelgänger
Stop Worrying About the Outcome (Law of Reverse Effect)
By letting go of worrying about the outcome, it’s more likely that we get the outcome we desire. Results don’t come by repeatedly thinking about them or desiring them fiercely; they come through actions. And the more we let ourselves be carried away by the desired results, the less we tend to act in ways that contribute to achieving them. The full video is available here: https://youtu.be/VpcQVjSVqOM#backwardslaw #reversedeffort #paradox

Be a Loser if Need Be | The Philosophy of Epictetus | Einzelgänger
Be a Loser if Need Be | The Philosophy of Epictetus
Stoicism for Inner Peace (book): https://einzelganger.co/innerpeaceWe’re so afraid to be seen as losers that we're willing to suffer in exchange for other people’s approval. What a sad state of being in, as by putting our money on external goods, we become dependent on them and gamble away our chances of being happy and free. According to Epictetus, we must be willing to let go of what he called “lesser things.” And if that means that we become total losers in the eyes of society, then that’s a price worth paying. This video doesn’t advocate for neglecting oneself or selfharm: quite the contrary, from a Stoic point of view. It explores the philosophy of Epictetus, showing a different way to determine what’s important in life, the concept of “being a loser,” and why being “seen” as a loser doesn’t have to be a bad thing. Don’t Worry, Everything is Out of Control | Taoist Antidotes for an Insane, Stressful World
Taoism for Inner Peace (book): https://einzelganger.co/tao/The writings of the ancient Taoists persuade us to go in a different direction: we ought to let go of existing concepts and worldviews, become aware of emptiness, let nature take its course, and move with nature rather than against it. The goal? An easier life, less worrying… following Tao, the universal principle. This video explores ancient Taoist ideas that may serve as antidotes for reducing worry in a world out of control.Video: Don’t Worry, Everything is Out of Control | Taoist Antidotes for an Insane, Stressful WorldSupport the channel:

Become Unconquerable | Stoic Philosophy | Einzelgänger
Become Unconquerable | Stoic Philosophy
The ancient Stoics produced a treasure trove of wisdom on becoming unconquerable. They believed that people cannot be conquered by anything external, as long as they don’t give away the power over their faculties. The only way external things can influence us is when we, ourselves, let them. If we feel that something has defeated us, it’s us defeating ourselves on account of it. If we want to become unconquerable, we don’t need to conquer the world but ourselves.
This video explores Stoic philosophy on how to become unconquerable.Support the channel:

What If The World is Actually a Prison? | The Philosophy of Arthur Schopenhauer
What if this world is actually one giant prison? When the 19thcentury philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer observed the amount of pain that we experience during our lifetimes, he concluded that it’s not happiness and pleasure we’re after, but a reduction of the ongoing suffering that’s an inherent part of existence. When we remove the veil of ignorance and behold the harsh reality we live in, we might start to question, as Schopenhauer does, the idea that, I quote, "this world is the successful work of an allwise, allgood, and, at the same time, allpowerful Being." End quote. For Schopenhauer's view of the world is one of agony - devoid of divine grace - and it has much more in common with a “penal colony” than with the creation of a benevolent deity. Now, seeing the world as a prison sounds like a recipe for personal misery. Why not adopt a more positive, more hopeful perspective? Why look at it with such pessimism?Well, Schopenhauer’s idea comes with a twist. Within his pessimistic worldview lies an outlook that could be very beneficial to humanity. Based on his essay On the Sufferings of the World, this video explores Schopenhauer’s pessimistic outlook on life and reveals a secret to be gained from it.Support the channel:
