October 7, 2023 seems to have ushered in a new world over there (and over here) with a multi-layered event that has resulted in clarity about the players, their demonic hatred for the Jews, and the depths of antisemitism that have laid down a new normal around the world. Continuing down the hole, we have a wounded Iran ready to do whatever they want to bring chaos and violence to a new level. Also rising to the top are new players with hopeful new influence such as Turkey, Qatar, Syria, Oman, the UAE and more. All of a sudden it’s true globalism, and Trump is contributing to it greatly by bringing as many nations as possible to the table. What could possibly go wrong? Things are happening at an astonishing pace, and we are here to see it all unfold. Tim and Mary are back to stare boldly into the face of another news cycle that seems to get a bit darker by the day. With the Bible’s exhortation to stay alert and awake in hand, we try and make sense of several topics. Iran is first up. Who will strike first, America or Israel? Of course, Israel has threatened to go after Iran for probably 10 years now, so something WILL get done. And with Iran’s own brand of prophecy, as they await their last days leader, they represent an immovable object. There is no negotiating with them. We also look further at Ai, last week’s news of Moltbook as a bot social media platform was entertaining enough. Today’s headline is something about bots looking for humans to do tasks for them and pay them in crypto. Scam, or testing the waters to see how gullible we are? We may never know. We also look at the dark shadow of transgendering our kids, a shameful chapter in American history brought to you by people who hate America, the family unit, and our kids especially. So much to chat about, a full hour of wondering what in the world is next while keeping our lamps trimmed and shining brightly.

Mary welcomes back Pastor Andy Woods for another engaging conversation about things we need to stay on top of: first up is antisemitism. As shocked as we all were with the university protests back in 2023/24, now that those have faded from the headlines, now what? That is the challenge for us all because antisemitism continues to ramp up and if we go numb to it, we are missing a key element in making sure the perpetrators are held accountable. We also look at Jared Kushner’s Gaza plan, part of the Peace Board. So many moving parts here, but rebuilding Gaza is the number 1 goal and it might not take as long as people might think. Also on the agenda: military buildup near Iran; Noah Harari’s somewhat unhinged comments about religion and sacred texts. You cannot make this stuff up but existential types like him have no problem translating our world into an Ai dystopian-antichrist friendly-transhuman-God hating-nightmare. Michael walks listeners through SGA’s roots and purpose. Founded in 1934 by Peter Deyneka, the organization began by supporting believers behind the Iron Curtain through covert Bible distribution and Christian radio partnerships, strengthening Christians who often had to listen in secret at great personal risk. Today, the focus is still the same at its core, equipping local churches instead of sending western missionaries, with a network that includes thousands of evangelical Baptist congregations across the former Soviet region. Michael notes he is building on the biblical and ministry foundation laid by Peter Deyneka and Bob Provost, with Bob continuing to advise as President Emeritus. As the discussion turns to the war in Ukraine, the theme becomes practical compassion, the church as a visible refuge, including their “Heat and Hope” effort to resource churches with generators and supplies so they can serve as centers of warmth, help, and gospel hope during harsh winters.

Yes, Jesus promised to go and prepare a place for us, but he qualifies it like this: “no one comes to the Father except by Me.” Is that exclusive, or inclusive? Or both? No other religion on earth promises heaven to its adherents – and even in Christianity, it further teaches that it must be via a narrow way, and by way of the new birth. Everyone dies, we all have that in common. Life after death? Well, it depends on who you believe for that. What is an afterlife? What can we look forward to in heaven, scripturally speaking? Only Jesus can remove the sting of death with eternal life. How do we know it’s all true? Hint: The Resurrection. Such great news, such a mighty bright future. We have noticed over the years that we can throw details of current affairs at Chris Quintana and he never ducks nor flinches. And so shall it be as Mary welcomes back Chris to talk about so many things. What does it mean to be “rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic?” Focusing on silly plastic lounge chairs instead of lifeboats? We will ask him about that, along with what exactly Don Lemon was thinking he would encounter when he entered that church; what the protestors think it means to use a concealed carry for running toward trouble; and why Minnesota? We ask Chris what that first amendment means to these peculiar circumstances. We also look at the church’s level of discernment when it comes to charismatic excesses as they relate to the Bethel/Shawn Bolz big tale of gullibility. Also: with another Super Bowl comes another round of “He Gets Us” adverts; and finally, the dreaded mid terms. Are there ever any real winners in any given election cycle? Today’s news cycle takes us beyond simple chatbot Ai and into the next wave: Agentic Ai.  Simply trying to keep up with advances in Ai tends to give the impression that people are up 24 hours a day making changes to all the expectations, and rearranging what we think we know into something we cannot possibly truly understand. Ai is completely upending all we know about how the world works, and redefining everything from the military to the work world, to finances. So many questions are going unanswered, but from a human standpoint, what does it do to our uniqueness as human beings, our free will, our morality? Who is running this show? A full hour on tech that is will not be obsolete next week – but we might.

On this week’s headline podcast, Tim and Mary take on some of the huge changes that are causing societal upheaval. First we talk about the entirety of the climate hoax and how it appears that nations and institutions are backing off a bit on the hysteria. Why? Because, well, it’s a hoax and while they will never admit that, the economics of it tells the tale of the tape. Not only is the stodgy legacy media going dark about it, but the UK itself is feeling “the heat” of failure in the form of manufacturing decline and citizen suffering on a day to day level. Then we take on some pretty sad immigration tales, such as Ireland, which is finding its people being replaced by the diversity of illegal immigration. When we have to ask “what is an Irishman anyway?”, it’s gone too far but no one is available currently to stop it. We also look at other dynamics of such policies, and who is Amelia, anyway? You can’t make this stuff up. Another full hour of watching the world go down the tubes, yet pointing upward to the greatest Hope of all.

Mary welcomes back Mondo Gonzales to look at current headlines through the lens of the intensity of events. Are things really cranking up or is there just more coverage? Even with the volume bar in the red, Jesus’ words about birth pangs rises above the tumult and warns us that events will crank up with both frequency and intensity. What is fueling the rage, the ideologies, the intensity? We stand back and watch and really don’t comprehend the craziness which feeds upon itself. Then there’s President Trump, who doesn’t mind shaking up the system that leftists thought was in their own iron-fisted control. If you just stand back and watch, you might even be amused. But it’s spiritual, and someone is shaking the nations from within.
