Another headline cycle gets us deeper into a kind of darkness that is truly astonishing. The world is reeling from the effects of the Mideast war that morphs from day to day and is dividing our nation. Why? Is it because the party that gave so much money to Iran doesn’t want the party trying to fix it to win? It’s complex, and we don’t know how it’s going to end. God knows. We also look at a goodly list of all the ways the signs are converging, so when taken as a whole picture, imperfect as it is for now, we can conclude things are never going back to some other world. How long, O Lord? If you took communion last weekend, you know how important it is to commemorate what He did; but it also ties us to what He will be doing when He comes. Proclaiming the Master’s death – TILL HE COMES. News cycles come and go but His Word remains.

Dr. JB Hixson Mary welcomes back JB Hixson to explore the topic of the attributes of God and how the knowledge of the One we worship gives us stability, wisdom, and an understanding of Whom we worship. The church often misrepresents God, and yet how can that be with all the revealed knowledge available to us in the Scriptures? And yet even knowing that He is perfect in all His ways, just, righteous and unchanging, we still find ways to lean on our own understanding in so many of OUR ways. In fact, the more we understand His nature, the more we fall on our knees in gratitude that He has provided a way to be reconciled to Him, despite the fact that we are fallen and completely opposite of Him in our natural selves. In fact, the more we know Him the more this verse becomes astonishing: “…His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” (1Peter 1:4). Today, on Stand Up For The Truth, host Dave Wager teaches from the account of Judas betraying Jesus, using it as a mirror for our own hearts. He walks through Matthew 26 and challenges the assumption that Judas was uniquely flawed, asking whether we fall into the same trap, expecting life and even God to revolve around us. Dave emphasizes that everything begins with God, not us, and that our role is not to be needed, but to recognize the privilege of being wanted and included in His plan. He draws a clear line between living for self, comfort, or money, and living in alignment with God’s purposes, warning that misplaced expectations can quietly lead to compromise, just as they did with Judas. He then connects Judas’ betrayal to a broader warning about sin and misplaced trust, especially in money and personal gain. Using everyday illustrations, including his own struggle with donuts, Dave explains how sin promises satisfaction but leaves regret, often too late to undo the consequences. He stresses that obedience to God is the true expression of love for Him, and that ignoring God’s direction leads to eventual remorse. The message closes with a sober reminder: we will all stand before God honestly, without spin, and the choices we make now matter. The call is simple and direct, know God, listen to Him, and walk in obedience today, before there is a “Judas moment” you can’t take back.

On this Good Friday 2026, Mary takes a look at the reality of authority in this life, and in the one to come.  Whether we realize it or not, authority is part of every day for every human. Parents, teachers, employers, politicians, authority in the home, and possibly even over how we will die, at least in Peter’s case and the case of the martyrs. We start at the beginning, when the authorities of the day had issues with the authority that Jesus claimed. Nothing gets hard core religious leaders in knots than to be usurping their hard-won, ego-driven authority over people, and Jesus put them in their place. Today, we struggle daily with political authority: who has it, who wants it, and who abuses it and abuses others over it. Why does the left hate Christians so much? It’s really very simple – because we follow after and obey a higher authority and that is what propels them to try and control everyone. Those who said they would not follow the Cov narrative were persecuted in a manner that told the tale though they denied it. And in the home, how does that play out best to show the example of Christ loving the church? It’s really not complicated at all. Communism, Islam, Nazism, climate change, No Kings – you name it – it all comes down to authority. And everyone will choose; every knee shall bow, every tongue confess. We talk a bit about gold in the Bible, and how it has always had an impact in the world regarding value, and buying and selling. God created it, He used it for His purposes, and mankind has found many ways to discover its various functions. We talk about the current economic situation, which can change overnight especially when there is a significant war going on in a pivotal place in the world such as the Middle East. On any given day, we might rather say, “he who has the oil makes the rules”, especially when things pinch at the gas pump. So, do you think like we do that it’s time to pull the plug on this old planet? Wars and rumors, protestors, papal pronouncements, tyrants – I think we have all had enough. And yet the Lord has the planet continue to rotate. Time must surely be on life support. Today we talk about the latest in Iran, something we expected in that the Revolutionary Guard seems to be in charge now. We also look at a bizarre speech by the Pope in which he lectures the world on war and what God thinks of it. Unfortunately, he has missed the mark widely. Energy lockdowns are also on our target list, because wasn’t it just 6 years ago that the powerful decided we all needed to stay home and not breathe on grandma? Here we go again. Time for a new heavens and new earth.

Mary welcomes new guest Stephanie Potts to the podcast. She worked with the federal government as an intelligence analyst for 15 years and now works with Midwest Christian Outreach. She is passionate about evangelism and apologetics and discernment education. Today we take apart what seemed to be just another way “to do church” in the early part of this century and drag it over to it’s logical conclusion: the deification of man. While that might sound dramatic, it is absolutely what is and always was behind the door of the emergent church/emergence theology that dared to attempt to do plastic surgery on the bride of Christ by denying the need for the atonement, rethinking the gospel, and placing all power and authority for the end game of earth on man. Even though the Bible teaches something apocalyptically different, the doesn’t stop man from thinking that sin is merely all the ways society has let us down. How can Christians better respond to the left on this? Perhaps making fun of the No Kings approach isn’t the most helpful and yet it’s hard not to take that route. Far from simply trying to understand the Jewish roots of the Bible, this movement seeks to answer the question about what happens when Gentiles and Jews get saved: do Gentiles become Jews?  For centuries, the people of God were Jews, with the exception of some Gentiles who came to faith in the God of Israel. The early church consisted mostly of Jewish believers in Jesus, but when the gospel went to the Gentiles, there was a new dynamic that, unfortunately, even led some to believe that Christians were the new Israel and now received all the promises of God solely. This teaching continues today across the church spectrum. Why is there so much confusion about who is who, when the epistles clearly address these things head on? But with the HRM, there is even more confusion regarding the Mosaic Law, the feasts of Israel, who is a Jew, and what is Israel. By practicing something that is no more real than their thinking they can be gods! Paganism, philosophy, delusion, are all part of the alt-beliefs that are diametrically opposed to revealed truth. God IS truth, it is not just “part” of Him. He cannot be separated from truth itself.
