Dr. Dacus is a Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery where he specializes in Orthopedic surgery and sub specializes in Hand and Upper Extremity. Moreover, Dr. Dacus completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Emory University School of Medicine, and after completing a fellowship in hand and upper extremity at the University of California, San Diego, Dr. Dacus entered the department in August of 2007. He graduated from Yale University School of Medicine and completed his Carolinas Medical Center internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery. Also, he served on the ABOS board of director and founder of Just cause scrubs. He obtained additional study, completing a fellowship at the University of Chicago in Musculoskeletal Oncology. Dr. Porter has been active with various local and national boards and associations since finishing advanced studies in order to receive a Masters in Business Administration from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. Currently, he is a member of the South Carolina Orthopaedic Association, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the National Musculoskeletal Tumor Society, and the American College of Surgeons. He has been inducted into the American Orthopaedic Association, which is the world's oldest Orthopaedic Surgery Organization, Dr. Porter's interests include the management of cancers of the bone and soft tissue, this involves metastatic disease.
