Faith and Anxiety: Dealing with Mental Health as Men of God

So often men feel like they have to keep everything inside, push everything down, or just push through…until they break. Matthew Deibler knows this first hand. For years he suffered from OCD, anxiety, and panic before ultimately succumbing to a nervous breakdown. We talk through his journey in overcoming his anxiety instead of running away from it because anxiety and mental health isn’t something we talk about enough. You don’t want to miss this! How to be Present for Work and Family

This season we’ve been working through the tough conversations men don’t always like to have, talking about emotions and manhood, topics surrounding business and family. Each week, we ask, “what does it mean to be a man?”  To Michael Pedalino, it’s balancing providing for your family but also being there for them. Being a provider doesn’t mean just providing resources. We also have to provide for ourselves. So how do we balance the hustle while also making sure we’re being present to those around us? Join us as we explore this topic. Prepare Yourself for Tough Situations with Chip Brown

A major theme of this podcast is the question, “what does it mean to be a man?” The aim for this season is for us to learn from other men about the steps they took in order to achieve the best results in their marriage, family, and businesses.  For Chip Brown, this meant taking the lessons he learned from his father and anchoring himself in the word of God in order to lead in all areas of his life effectively. In this episode, we talk about how being a pastor’s kid affects the way Chip leads his family now and the importance of grace, community, and accountability. The Fight to Be Who God Has Created You to Be with Julie Foucher

Julie Foucher is a multi-time Crossfit Games competitor and podium finisher, a doctor, and the Host of the Pursuing Health Podcast. But I think that what stands out most about Julie is her character. It’s not just something people like me observed. It’s something you hear so many of her peers confirm over and over again. So when I read a post (linked below) where she shared that she wasn’t truly living as she felt she was created to, my intrigue was captured. During our conversation, I had the opportunity to hear first hand about her iconic 2015 CrossFit Regionals injury and continued performance (linked below), we discussed the most recent season of her life that caused her to examine who she believed herself to be and how she was living that out, very practical tools to evaluate your life and grow into the person God created you to be. I cannot tell you how happy I was to have this conversation with Julie. She will always be that iconic CrossFit competitor, but more importantly to me, she will continue to be an example of living a life of authenticity…even when it hurts. Relentless Authenticity and Excellence with John Reed

John Reed, CEO and Co-Founder of Bosscat Kitchen and Libations and Ten Restaurant is an absolute bada$$. John’s social media plea for his employees early in the pandemic caught my eye, but it was his relentless pursuit of authenticity and excellence that drove me to hunt him down and convince him to chat with me. Our discussion dug into leadership, sales and serving customers, manhood, loving your neighbor, and so much more. Check out my trip down to Bosscat’s newest location in Orange for an amazing conversation, a fantastic lunch, and one of the best bourbon drinks out there. Ruthless About Real featured on Influencer Networking Secrets Podcast

I was fortunate to be invited back on the Influencer Networking Secrets Podcast with Paul Edwards. Beyond that, we dove into: The clear signs that the “fake it till you make it” mode of operation is no longer viable The silver lining of being pushed out of your comfort zone The biggest pain points my client’s experience, and how I guide people through them The most rewarding things that come from being “ruthless about real” Check it out on your favorite podcast platform and let me know what you think!
