Ep 14 - Mindset: do you want to be flawless or do you want to be learning?

On this episode, J.R. talks about Carol Dweck’s groundbreaking book Mindset. She said everyone lives by one of two mindsets: fixed or growth.A fixed mindset creates an urgency to prove yourself over and over. Every situation is evaluated: will I succeed or fail? Well I look smart or dumb? Will I be accepted or rejected? Will I feel like a winner or loser? And a growth mindset is based on the belief that your basic qualities or things you can cultivate throughout your efforts. Everyone can change and grow. A passion for learning. Why waste time proving over and over how great you are when you can get better?Three questions to ponder:1.     Would you describe yourself as having a fixed mindset or a growth mindset – and how would you know?2.     If you had to choose which one would you take: loads of success and validation or lots of challenge?3.     When do you feel smart: When you’re flawless or when you’re learning?***If you enjoy this podcast, can I ask you for a 45 second favor: can you leave a review? Ep 13 - The 3 irrefutable elements of a leader

On this episode, J.R. shares his three irrefutable elements a leader. A leader is one who:·      Builds trust·      Bears pain·      Gives hopeEach of these are in a symbiotic, overlapping, intermingled relationship, growing and bulding off of each other.
