Fear. Fearlessness. Risk. Speaking up. These words have taken on a new, urgent meaning for many women (and for many men) this year. Speaking up is never without some risk – but the magnitude of that risk varies widely. The costs of fear for organizations are illuminated in THE FEARLESS ORGANIZATION: Creating Psychological Safety in the Workplace for Learning, Innovation, and Growth (Wiley, November 2018) by Harvard Business School Professor Amy C. Edmonson.

Interview with Rob Braiman
Rob Braiman CEO / Managing Member Cogent Analytics
Background Information
I have a long-standing reputation as a "serial entrepreneur," and I’ve spent 15 years working directly with business owners to improve strategic planning, operations, growth, and profitability.
I founded Cogent Analytics after spending over 10 years as a senior business analyst helping to improve and build main street businesses across the country. The company has now been ranked for 2 consecutive years on the Inc 500/Inc 5000 list of fastest growing companies in the country and # 5 in the state of NC.
I have personally engaged with over 1700 businesses across the United States and I continue my work to further the interests of other business owners like myself. The mission of Cogent Analytics is to bring tools of better management, organization, and profitability to privately held, small to mid-sized businesses; and to deliver our services with integrity and transparency.
Cogent’s primary objective in every interaction, is to put the interests of the client first. In support of that directive, I’ve built a company culture based on a code of honor, courage, wisdom, faith, perseverance, and loyalty. The foundation of my value system started in the U.S. Military as a young man serving with SOCOM and my deeply-rooted personal code is what I demand of myself every day; and is what I ask the employees of Cogent to embrace. Service to others under this code is at the very core of the entrepreneurial spirit and of which is a foundational pillar at Cogent.
I support former military members during their transition to civilian life and It's a privilege to help them discover the value of their military experience as they seek employment and find success in the business world.
A husband of 24 years and a father of two, I stand committed to my family, my community, and to my employees and clients.

Interview with Andrea Corpening
Andrea Corpening helps businesses create a professional and customer focused workforce. What I’ve found is a lot of business leaders are stressed and burned out because they are too busy doing everything except what is most important: developing their employees and building strong leaders.
Your business is a direct reflection of your investment in training and developing your staff.
Most leaders fail to create expectations for their staff, so they carry the burden of the business on their shoulders. By developing other leaders, you can have employees that share your vision, are fully engaged in the business, and know what is expected of them and will have higher performance. Andrea is a certified professional in Talent Development and DISC Behavioral Styles

Interview with Safi Bahcall
SAFI BAHCALL is a second-generation physicist (the son of two astrophysicists) and a biotech entrepreneur. He received his BA summa cum laude from Harvard and his PhD from Stanford. After working for three years as a consultant for McKinsey, he co-founded a biotechnology company developing new drugs for cancer (which led him to be profiled by Malcolm Gladwell in The New Yorker). He led its IPO and served as its CEO for 13 years. In 2008, he was named E&Y New England Biotechnology Entrepreneur of the Year. In 2011, he worked with the president's council of science advisors (PCAST) on the future of national research. He lives with his wife and two children in Cambridge, MA. Loonshots is his first book.
Loonshots: Available March 19th: https://www.amazon.com/Loonshots-Nurture-Diseases-Transform-Industries/dp/1250185963/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=loonshots&qid=1551788294&s=gateway&sr=8-1 Praise for Safi Bahcall and Loonshots
“Safi Bahcall extends the principles of emergence to the behavior of groups, creating an entirely new way of thinking about why some succeed and others fail. Safi hits all the right notes: the rhythm is right, the humor is right, the scope is right ... everything is right. Loonshots should be required reading for anyone serious about changing the world for the better.” –ROBERT LAUGHLIN, winner of the Nobel Prize in physics, author of A Different Universe “This book has everything: new ideas, bold insights, entertaining history and convincing analysis. Not to be missed by anyone who wants to understand how ideas change the world.” –DANIEL KAHNEMAN, winner of the Nobel Prize, author of Thinking, Fast and Slow “A wonderful book that explores the beauty, quirkiness and complexity of ideas, Loonshots will both educate and entertain you. If you care about ideas—especially new and out-of-the-box ones—you need to read this book.”--SIDDHARTHA MUKHERJEE, winner of the Pulitzer Prize, author of The Emperor of All Maladies “Safi Bahcall proposes that phase-transition physics can illuminate human organizations. Companies that are “crystalline” may be efficiently run but don’t innovate; those that are “liquid” produce floods of ideas but no discipline. The physics suggests, moreover, how companies can be disciplined and innovative at the same time. Anyone interested in a fresh approach to innovation—with lots of lively examples—should read this book.”–ERIC MASKIN, professor at Harvard, winner of the Nobel Prize in economics “Who knew that one idea could connect naval battles, chirping crickets, and the birth of modern science? If The Da Vinci Code and Freakonomics had a child together, it would be called Loonshots. This book is a must read for anyone in business, education, or public service.“--SENATOR BOB KERREY, Medal of Honor recipient, former governor of Nebraska and president of The New School “Riveting stories … Bahcall’s fresh ideas and practical solutions—an unusual combination of psychology and physics—should change the way any person or team sets out to change the world.”-AMY C. EDMONDSON, Professor at Harvard Business School and author of The Fearless Organization

Interview with Evans Duren
Seventeen years ago, Evans Duren discovered his dream and purpose is to serve others in the marketplace through
his public speaking, coaching and writing. Rather than diving into that dream immediately, he followed the path of
success as outlined by the world around him.
Since then. he has worked with hundreds of clients. suppliers and
organizations across the country as a top sales producer earning regional and national awards.
Evans has also come to understand business is about so much more than revenues and profits. Business has allowed
him to engage his clients beyond the transactions. building genuine relationships that blur the line between the
marketplace and personal life.
In time and through real-life experiences. Evans came to realize the person he was chasing was not at all who he
needed to be. Now he is on a mission to help others rEDefine success in their lives. as he has in his own. rather than
live out someone else's definitions. expectations and standards. His purpose is to serve others with a desire to stand
alongside them in their victories. losses. struggles and triumphs.
