"The Irish exit. The irony of this title is that prior to being sober I was known in my big drinking  days for making Irish exits on a regular basis. Mainly because I wanted to keep myself from  looking like a fool. This, my most recent “Irish exit” has been FROM drinking and has done  anything but left me feeling like a fool. It has enabled me to feel proud strong and capable. Urban Dictionary describes it as “the departure from any event without telling any friends,  associates or acquaintances that one is leaving.
