HOW 2 TUESDAY #20 - How To Choose A Bonefish Fly

When choosing a bonefish fly, it is important to keep in mind the shape, size, and sink rates. Depending where you are fishing, you will need to have a heavier or lighter weight bonefish fly. For instance, if you are fishing in shallow water, you don’t want to throw a heavier weight bonefish fly in, as it will scare the fish away. Instead, you will want to have a lighter fly that will sink towards the bottom without having a strong, heavy impact.

#0042 - Questions And Answers From Instagram Ft. Will Taylor

I’ve had the chance to hang out with Will Taylor and learn how deep his knowledge is in the fishing industry. As a Blue Ridge native and a professional fly-fishing guide, Will does trout fishing mostly in the Northern Georgia area. When Will isn’t a guide or out fishing, he loves being with his 16-month old daughter and watching her grow. I had a chance to do a Q&A with my followers and podcast listeners as they ask questions for the both of us to answer.

HOW 2 TUESDAY #19 - How To Stay In Shape With No Equipment

This week I revisited a popular podcast I did, “How to Stay in Shape on the Road”. Although last time I spoke strictly about the Deck of Cards workout, this week I am going to give you insight to even more options to have while on the road. We have three different workouts you can do: Jelly Legs, 3 miles and 300 pushups, and then Parking Lot.

#0041 - Gregor Gillespie - #bestfishermaninmma

Gregor Gillespie is a former Division 1 National Champion wrestler, 4x All American and 2x High School State Champion. He has made the transition to the UFC and sits 12-0 currently. As a fan of wrestling, I am always for the wrestler in the Octagon. Gregor caught my attention with his wrestling pedigree but in his post fight interview I heard him say…what????

How To Start Your Own Podcast, Podcast - HOW 2 TUESDAY #18

I am not a podcast expert by any means, however I was able to get mine off the ground and have maintained it for 57 episodes so far. I learned how to do a podcast the hard way like most other things in my life. So, when I received multiple questions asking how I started or what equipment I use, I thought I would address this on the How2Tuesday episode. The first thing I did was check out the podcasts that had the best sound and shows that had very detailed notes, but it was still difficult to track down all the equipment. I made a few mistakes and purchased equipment I didn’t need. My initial setup was cumbersome and caused me to lose a podcast. After that I decided to create the simplest podcast setup I could so I would never lose another interview. Initially I used a laptop and headsets and would just sit down with one guest. It was very distracting for me to pay attention to the computer and audio levels. I did more research and came up with a much simpler setup. Below are all the products I mention in the podcast and you can click on the button or the image to go straight to purchase your own equipment. As I mentioned right away, I am not a podcast expert, but if you are looking for a simple podcast setup, this one has worked for me.

#0040 - Graham Tayloe - A Brother From Another Mother

After two full How 2 Tuesdays featuring Graham Tayloe, I had the joy of sitting down with him. If you ever get to hunt with Graham you will see how incredibly passionate he is about what he does. He is one of my favorite people all around and I love to go hunting with him as well. I’m sure you will enjoy this podcast as much as I enjoyed sitting down with Graham and talking about his plethora of knowledge about the outdoors and fishing.

HOW 2 TUESDAY #17 - How To Keep Shrimp Alive

Oxygen in the water: using a bubbler or aerator. You don’t need the water to be circulating, you need to oxygenate the whole area. A stone with a weight on it will make it sink and an aerator. Something for the shrimp to rest on. This is something that the shrimp can hang on to. A screen around the edge maybe. This is a great way to keep the shrimp alive.

Capt's Scott Walker And Steve Rodger - Into The Blue - #0039

Great podcast here! I got to sit down with the hosts of Into The Blue television, Scott Walker and Steve Rodgers. It was hard for me to get around to do this podcast but we found some time and got it done. We also got to have Jake Perry, who does our underwater filming, sit down with us and tell us about a swordfish that attacked him. If you know anything about swordfish, you know that they are no joke and Jake was very fortunate to come out of that situation unscathed.

HOW 2 TUESDAY #16 - How To Tie A Bonefish Leader

Lefty Kreh made the 50% rule for leaders and I use it all the time. A 9ft leader is kind of standard. There is a very simple formula, the one made by Lefty.  4+2+1+2=9 4.5+6+3+1.5+3=13.5 We start with 50 and taper down to 15. We start 4ft of 50lb, 2ft of 30lb, 1ft of 25lb then double the last distance of 2ft of 15lb.

#0038 - Matt Hughes - A Fighting Life

I met Matt for the first time in 2010 and we have kept up some after that. Later I found a post on Instagram about him in a hospital and found that he was struck by a train. I commented after seeing him walk into the UFC with him all healed, that we should go on a fishing trip. After that we got him down to Hawks Cay and then had him sit down on the podcast.
