11. When Presbyterianism Works...eventually

Paul Harrell is joined by former PCA GA Moderator and veteran pastor TE Dominic Aquila to discuss the case Harrell, et. al. v. Covenant Presbytery, which was decided by the General Assembly. In that case several men from a church plant in Jonesboro Arkansas were indicted and censured by the Session for violations of the Fifth and Ninth Commandments when they raised concerns about and expressed opposition to having TE Jeff Wreyford offered to the congregation as a candidate for pastor. The SJC completely exonerated the seven church members. 9. The Necessary Item 1: Unity on Officers & Ordination

Pastors Matt Adams and Kyle Brent discuss the need for the PCA to unite in our use of language regarding official titles. Currently in the PCA there are many congregations who address unordained men and women as "deacon" or "pastor," despite our Book of Church Order using those titles in a technical, official sense. Item 1 would explicitly limit the use of those titles to refer to ordained men only. The Westminster Standard is brought to you by Jude 3 & the PCA. Visit our website: jude3pca.org.

Language, Legalism & Post Modernism in the PCA

Eighteen Months ago, TE George Sayour wrote an article analyzing the use of language in the PCA. Sayour expressed concern that Post-Modernism is frustrating efforts to promote unity and understanding the PCA. TEs Job Dalomba and Sayour join the show to reflect on how things have improved since the article was published as well as areas for continued growth in terms of faithfulness and integrity.  Read the original here: https://irreverentreverend.org/2022/02/26/progressive-legalism-postmodern-chaos-in-the-pca/ Season 1, Episode 5 of the Westminster Standard.
