Markus Reisner is an Austrian historian, military expert, and officer of the Austrian Armed Forces serving as commander of the Gardebataillon. He joined the Austrian Armed Forces in 1997 as a one-year volunteer and subsequently completed a preparatory semester for the Military Academy in Allentsteig. Markus Reisner currently is a member of the Military History Advisory Board of the Scientific Commission at the Austrian Federal Ministry of Defense and holds a position as lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt. Before, he advised the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2017-2018), as well as the Austrian Ministry of Defence (2018).  As we approach the 1 year mark since the beginning of the war between Russia and Ukraine, we recap the world since the war began, how it will play out and more on this episode of Velina's Talk series. Iran has undergone significant changes over the past two to three decades, both domestically and in its relationships with the international community. Domestically, Iran has experienced a political and cultural shift with the rise of religious and conservative elements, leading to increased tensions between the government and opposition groups. On the foreign front, Iran has become more isolated due to its nuclear program, which has led to harsh economic sanctions imposed by the international community. Despite this, Iran continues to play a major role in regional politics. "Quo Vadis" is a latin phrase which roughly translates to "Where are you headed?" Esfandyar, the founder & CEO of Bourse & Bazaar Foundation a think tank focused on the middle east.
