Jerry McAuley—Evangelist to the Down and Out (Audiobook)
Jerry McAuley—Evangelist to the Down and Out: From River Thief to Rescuer of the Lost on Water Street
Personal recollections by A. S. Hatch, James Talcott, Mrs. E. M. Whittemore, Mrs. Spencer W. Coe, Rev. John Calvin Knox, and contributions by J. H. Wyburn, James A. Richards, and others.
With an Introduction by Rev. S. Irenaeus Prime, D.D.
In the summer before he died, Jerry McAuley planned to write a detailed account of how God worked in and through his life. He wanted to wait for cooler weather to begin writing. Sadly, he passed away before he could start. Because of this, we have lost many stories about God's grace at work in both the Water Street and Cremorne Missions.
Thankfully, enough stories remain, and you'll find them in these pages. They are sure to touch the hearts of Christians. These stories remind us that God's grace is available to everyone, without exception. Just as the most beautiful jewels are often found in the most unlikely places in nature, God's grace brings forth shining examples of His love from even the darkest corners of society...

The Life of Missionary Henry Martyn (Audiobook)
Preface for, "The Life of Missionary Henry Martyn".
From the 1831 edition that was written by John Hall. This volume has been primarily compiled from the tenth English edition of the Memoirs of Mr. Martyn by Rev. John Sargent.
The author of this publication has aimed to present the subject in a way that helps young readers form a balanced view of Christian character. Instead of encouraging vague admiration, the goal is to offer the humble missionary as a practical example to follow. To achieve this, the author has intentionally avoided excessive praise, hoping the biography will leave a lasting impression on the reader about the essential need for God's power in leading a holy and useful life. Often, children are subtly taught to see the remarkable examples of piety and zeal recorded in both sacred and ordinary history as exceptions to Christ's teaching, where He instructed His disciples to say—even after fulfilling all commands—"We are unprofitable servants; we have done what we were supposed to do." This approach can create an illusion that even mature understanding may not fully dispel, and it may also diminish the glory of the one perfect example of righteousness that has blessed our world. Moreover, it risks nurturing hidden religious pride in the heart of the young Christian, something that usually needs no extra encouragement to hinder the growth of grace.
Memoirs of a Christian should be designed more to instruct the living than to praise the dead, and it is surprising that so few works of this nature are available, crafted with evangelical discernment. This principle is especially important in biographies intended for Sunday school students, and it would be a true honor to the institution if the materials endorsed in this area were distinguished by this rare moral clarity.

Money: Thoughts For God’s Stewards - Andrew Murray (Audiobook)
"In all our faith and Bible study, it is very important to understand the mind of Christ, to think like He thought, and to feel like He felt. There isn’t a question we face or an issue that comes up where Christ’s words don’t offer guidance and help. Today, we want to understand Christ’s thoughts about money, to know exactly how He viewed it, and then to think and act as He would. This isn’t easy. We are so influenced by the world around us that we may fear becoming impractical if we live exactly like Christ. But we shouldn’t be afraid; if we truly want to know His will, He will show us what He wants us to think and do. Just be sincere in saying: I want Christ to teach me how to handle and use my money."

Neesima: A Journey From Samurai to Servant of God (Audiobook)
This book, "Neesima: A Journey from Samurai to Servant of God" (1908) serves as a concise overview, primarily adapted from The Life and Letters of Joseph Hardy Neesima by Arthur Sherburn Hardy. We have revised the third edition of that work, published in 1908 by the M. E. Publishing House, Mount Road, Madras, India. This context partly explains why the final chapter focuses on Neesima’s influence in India.
Together with Paul Kanamori's book, which we have also republished, this volume provides a broader perspective on the Gospel's impact in Japan, enriching the Christian understanding of its reach in Asia.
This volume tells the true history of a samurai who abandoned the false gods of his upbringing to embrace Christianity and bring moral reformation to his homeland—through the only way possible—the Gospel. Neesima’s journey from an oppressed society to the heights of education in America, and ultimately his founding of a Christian university in Japan, offers a compelling narrative of faith, patriotism, and the transformative power of the Gospel.
I love Jesus-more than anything else. I cast whole self to Him and try to do right before His sight. This is my vow. I will go back to Japan and persevere to turn the people to Jesus from Devil. — Joseph Hardy Neesima

Paul Kanamori: Wrecked by Higher Criticism, Restored by Faith
Paul Kanamori's Life Story: How the Higher Criticism Wrecked a Japanese Christian; and How He Came Back.
As a young believer, Kanamori experienced a powerful revival and went on to serve as a missionary to his own people. However, over time, he fell away and became a prodigal. In the book, Kanamori shares how he was led astray by the higher criticism movement—a school of thought that caused him not only to question God’s Word but to doubt its authority, deny its truth.
As I read about his spiritual drift, I was reminded of people I know today. Some now question foundational biblical truths, claiming that Adam and Eve were not real people, or they’ve embraced theistic evolution. Is there hope for them?
Kanamori describes his journey through doubt and denial of Scripture, but his story does not conclude in despair. Even after 20 years of grappling with skepticism and theological error, he was brought back to a firm faith and full restoration.
This provides me with great encouragement to continue praying for those who have strayed from God's Word—there is always hope for their restoration as well.

Meekness: Cultivating the Imperishable Quality of a Gentle and Quiet Spirit (Audiobook)
Listen to the audiobook of Matthew Henry Meekness: Cultivating the Imperishable Quality of a Gentle and Quiet Spirit. Just as Andrew Murray’s book Humility is a classic on cultivating humility, so is Henry’s work on meekness for those pursuing it. While the book may feel repetitive at times, it is like a cloth repeatedly scrubbing a spot that wasn’t clean the first time. By the end, this thorough approach will have greatly helped you cultivate meekness in your own life.
Matthew Henry writes, "there is no other topic I could bring to you where I feel more likely to succeed than this, for meekness contributes so much to the comfort and peace of our souls, making our lives sweet and pleasant. If you are wise in this, you are wise for yourself. The aim of this discourse has been to persuade you not to be your own tormentors but to govern your passions so that they do not become furies to your soul. The virtue I have been recommending to you is universally acknowledged as excellent and beautiful. Will you embrace it and wear it, so that others may know you are Christ's disciples and you may be found among the sheep on His right hand on the great day when Christ’s angels will gather out of His kingdom all that offends?"

He struggles with poverty and hard work, thinking that his life is of little worth. The Ministry of Healing: Miracles of Healing Through the Ages
The Ministry of Healing: Miracles of Healing Through the Ages by A.J. Gordon, originally published in 1882, revised in 2024.
Have there been miracles since the time of the apostles? The common answer has been a firm “no.” A recent survey in a religious journal asked ministers, teachers, and theology professors for their views. Most responded, and nearly all agreed that the age of miracles ended with the apostles.
Some of these responses suggested the question had not been deeply considered. A few even tried to avoid the issue by asking, “What is a miracle?” Only one or two supported the idea that miracles are possible in every age and have occurred throughout Church history.

Have We No Rights?—A Frank Discussion of the "Rights" of Missionaries
by Mabel Williamson, first published in 1957.
What does it mean to give up everything for the sake of Christ? In a world that teaches us to cling to our rights—our right to comfort, control, and personal security—what happens when we let them go? Can we embrace a life that forfeits the comforts of a ‘normal’ standard of living for the mission of the Gospel? Are we willing to surrender the desire to control our own health, privacy, and time if it means serving others in need? What does love look like when we sacrifice the right to a ‘normal’ romance or home life for a missions calling? Can we truly give up the right to choose our companions and trust God’s plan for our relationships? What about our desire to feel superior, to take charge—can we lay that down at Christ’s feet and follow His path of humility? And, most importantly, are we ready to follow the example of the Apostle Paul, who surrendered every claim to personal rights in his pursuit of God’s mission?
This book presents a challenging yet valuable read for all believers. However, it is especially relevant for those who feel called to the mission field. It offers insights that can help prepare them for the journey ahead, including challenges of the heart they may not yet foresee.
