Nouman Ali Khan is the founder and CEO of Bayyinah and serves as a lead instructor for several programs including Dream, traveling seminars and Bayyinah TV. His serious Arabic training began in the U.S. in 1999 under Dr. Abdus-Samie, founder and former principal of Quran College in Faisalabad, Pakistan.
Khan served as a professor of Arabic at Nassau Community College until 2006 when he decided to take Bayyinah on as a full-time project. Since then he has taught more than 10,000 students through traveling seminars and programs. He currently resides in Dallas, Texas and is focusing on teaching his students, developing Arabic curricula and filming material for Bayyinah TV.
Nouman Ali Khan, who was of Pakistani descent and was born in Germany on May 4, 1978, spent his early years in the former East Berlin. Khan attended the Pakistan Embassy school from second through eighth grade while his father was employed by the Pakistani Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Khan was a teenager when his father decided to relocate the family to New York.

2. Islamophobia

The unprecedented hatred against the Muslims, the rise of anti-Islamophobic crimes and much more can be attributed largely to ignorance of the people and also due to genuine worry and fear for their own kith and kin. The hatred, animosity, and misinterpretation that we see around us is actually the result of the people being terrified and scared due to the thought of having to part with his freedom and being jeopardized.
Our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ has said: "Later times are going to be afflicted with trials you are going to find difficult to bear" and "Every time one comes, it will make the previous one look trivial". The people will say "this is the one, this is the one" thinking it is much more than the previous.”
The above Hadith is the reality of the hour with Islamophobia at its peak. The reality of the hour is also the need for the Muslim Ummah to step up. We should let go of our nonchalant and ignorant attitude towards these trials and adopt a constructive approach filled with the propagation of the truth of Islam for the betterment of our religion.
These trials have only been brought down into this trivial world to purify the hearts of the believers and reinstall undying faith and love for the religion of Islam. Hence, it is our primary duty to do whatever it takes within permissible limits to ensure that our Deen does not suffer at the hands of these monstrosities.

1. When Will you submit?
Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan makes us ponder on the 54th Ayah of Surah-An Nisa of the Noble Qur'an.
“Or do they envy people for what Allah has given them of His bounty? But we had already given the family of Abraham the Scripture and wisdom and conferred upon them a great kingdom.”
Surah Nisa includes many instructions for Muslims and how to set up themselves as a community. And in it it also has principles for us of how to go beyond the community and really truly become a nation. So you know there is this idea of us the smallest unit of humanity being an individual and beyond that being a family and beyond that being a neighborhood and beyond that being a community and even beyond that being a nation. And so these stepping stones that lead us to become a solidify nation, an Ummah.
