The Right Words
Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan talks about and emphasizes on the meaning of the word - Qawlan Sadeedah [The Right Words].
The power of words is the quintessential power bestowed upon man and is a gift from Allah. When we speak, we communicate with Allah and hence, we should be vigilant on how we use them in our daily lives.
The word Saddah means filling a hole or a gap. Regarding speech, Sadd “سد” in Arabic means to fill in something. Our conversations should be such that it doesn’t create any further problems, if some already exist, rather fill that void. one should be thoughtful of his tone/voice/statements.
‘Sud’ also means a dam that separates and mountain (a reference to Surah Yasin and Kahf) it encourages us to speak with knowledge or don’t speak anything. We should only speak if we have something positive to contribute to a conversation. We should also take care to speak straight/clearly so listeners can tell where it began and where it ended, unlike tangled cables or ropes where no one can tell where starts and where it ends. Say what you want others to hear, thus, leaving no room for ambiguity. Lastly, we should speak with “purpose”.

Straight Talk
Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan delivers a Khutbah in which he attempts to introduce the meanings, teachings, and lessons that can be imbibed from verses 69 - 72 of Surah Al Ahzab.
Interpersonal communication within the family, partners, and friends should be aimed at bettering relations and not as a means to cause humiliation. Our Deen is not about embarrassing others but about upholding the Deen and saying that which is right and meaningful.

Before Revelation
Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan delivers a great Khutbah regarding the character and then relates it to our relationship with the immediate family members and bringing them back on the path of Allah through our patience and Husne Akhlaq.
What is profound is that good character and morals is not obtained only from the revelation of Allah through the Qur'an. The Prophet ﷺ did not have any revelations till the age of 40 yet his character was exemplary and topnotch in every magnitude.
How do we ensure we try to emulate and be as close as one can be to the character of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ? Listen intently so that we can imbibe the advice meted out to us in all sincerity.

The Devil’s Final Ultimatum
Nouman Ali Khan delves into the final dialogue of Iblees. Shaytan is the ultimate enemy we have and is a relentless and pertinent one we have till the end of time. How is the devil going to come at us and pull us under his wing?
Some of the origins of the word Shukr are illustrated and how some of us have Shukr cultivated within us and is displayed.
Shaytan is angry at being admonished for being arrogant to Allah and swears that he will make mankind even more arrogant than him and even ungrateful. so, arrogance is a lack of manifestation of gratitude. Shaytan comes from four directions at us and he wants to prove our ingratitude from our hearts and diminish our optimistic relation with Allah. We should fight the temptations and let not greed get the better of us because we should firmly believe that Allah will never abandon us in moments of crises.

How The Devil Attacks From The Left
Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan elaborates on how Satan attacks us from the left side.
The basic idea that is postulated by the scholars is that right is associated with the good and left is for that which is bad which means it makes us lazy, delaying doing good things, etc. What keeps us connected to Allah is the acts of worship, remembrance of Allah, our desire to seek forgiveness from Allah for our sins.
Shaytan attacks from the left by:
Removing your motivation to engage in beneficial acts by slowing your ability to do good things. This way he has room to fill up your heart with bad things.
Eliminating the remembrance of Allah from your life so that you are not alarmed in Haram situations and to then fill your heart with despair.
By beautifying sins for you and pulling you towards his direction (the left). Ultimately deviating you from the path of Allah.
To convince us that you have no respect, that you are filthy and invaluable in the eyes of Allah.
Greed and Wanting more than just the blessings of Allah.
Once he gets you evolved in sin, he’ll keep you thereby convincing you that you need it.

How The Devil Attacks From The Right
Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan elaborates explicitly on how the Devil attacks us from the right direction.
The Shaytan attacks from the right by:
Convincing you that you own your guidance. So you start to pity others, deviating away from your own guidance and focusing on theirs. Ultimately believing you are the source of guidance and take part in others’ personal journey to Allah.
Using the word of Allah for evil purposes (Having a personal agenda above the word of Allah)
Resetting the priorities of Islam
Defining your own idea of a ‘good character’
Misjudging people based on their presentation. Focusing on the difference in insignificant worshipping styles

How The Devil Pulls Us back
How the devil pulls us back
In his previous talk the venerated Sheikh talked about how the syaitan attacks us from the front. In this talk he tells us how the syaitan attacks us from the back.
One of the easiest ways syaitan achieves this is by his whispers. We may think that it's our thoughts emanating from us but the reality is it's coming from the accursed one, the one that promised Al Khaliq he would lead the children of Adam astray from every angle.
One of the things that syaitan wants us to be is in the same of constant doubt, always asking ourselves 'why did this happen to me?’. He plays a psychological game with humans. If we are obsessed with the our past acts, we cannot go forward to better ourselves. Syaitan wants you to remain in that state of hopelessness that syaitan himself is in.
These difficult times you went through are not proof that Allah hates you, doesn't care about you, does not love you. This is not the case because some of the best persons that ever lived went through extremely trying times. Our beloved prophet himself lost his parents as a child, moved from home to home, lost his children, lost his wife, whose cause led his tribe to suffer for almost three years. So you are not alone in your suffering.
This is why the content of this talk is crucial to us. It gives us the inside information of Syaitan's weapons of attack. So take some time today to listen to this short but supremely important talk.

When The Devil Attacks Head On
Khutbah by Nouman Ali Khan
Our beloved Sheikh in this khutbah talks about one of the attacks of Iblis stated in Surah 7.
Iblis here swore he will absolutely come at us from in front of us and behind us.
Which basically means he's attacking head on- literally in front of us, the literal meaning being iblis will use things directly in front of us against us. Eg: whatever you want to look at is physically in front of the screens of iPhone, laptop screen etc. Iblis doesn't want us to think of the consequences of our action. He whispers to us that consequences don't matter.
The second prong of this frontal attack is when iblis directs our focus by whispering about the physical elements of life - obsessing us with things that we can see - that branded outfit or the house in that particular neighborhood.
In Surah An-Nas - the Quran says “iblis whispers into the chest” which carries the meaning that Iblis uses the emotions in our chest and manipulates them to work against our aqidah, our deen. He'll use our anger to mess us up; use our happiness to mess us up. Devil whispers - “I won't give you what you want but something lesser but I'll give it to you now”.
He attacks you from right in front of you and blinds you. Syaitan blocks your view ahead of your meeting with Allah using that latest car, that awesome holiday.
To achieve the vision you have for your future you need direction, you need a goal. Iblis wants you to not have goals. Iblis makes the future invisible by blinding your view with his frontal materialistic attack.
The Devil fills us with pessimism so we will let go of our expectations of Allah that which is the essential aspect of our relationship with Allah. Iblis wants to take material things and convert it to our goals, so we're immersed and obsessed with those things and thus we lose sight of our goals.
And his next frontal attack is his attack on Time. He makes us believe we have Time to achieve our goals. He wants us to have no expect for our time and throw it away frivolously.
So now we are aware that he will launch a multi latered frontal attack, we need to know how to fight it. We need to know that we have no control of the future. It's not in our hands but Allah's. Thus how do you fight this frontal attack? Listen to this talk till the very end to discover how to defend our Iman and our deen from these obvious and sworn attacks of the cursed Iblis.

The Devil's Motive
Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan makes us get goosebumps just by listening to his lecture on the Devil's Motive.
In this talk, we comprehend how Shaytaan is sitting to attack us! How ungrateful he is and wants us to be the same. We need to realize that we must always be grateful for the organs, food, shelter, parents, and Alhamdulillah for making us Muslims, and His guidance that Allah has provided us with. Alhamdulillah, there are so many things to be grateful for.
Insha Allah, with the constant remembrance of Allah we will be able to defeat the devil. May Allah protect us from his whispers and make us among those for whom Allah has chosen this path to be easy. Aameen.
