Jocelyn Carter is suing Bright Horizons at Legacy in Plano, Texas, after she says her 20-month-old came home from her first day at the daycare with swollen, red cheeks and a cough that led to vomiting. Carter found out later that the toddler had gotten her hands on a vape pen and was seen with smoke coming out of her mouth and nose. Daycare employees allegedly did not report the incident. A Houston judge raised 18-year-old Everilda Cux-Ajtzalam’s bond to $200,000 as she faces a charge of abandoning her newborn. The baby boy was found wrapped up in a plastic bag inside a dumpster, with the placenta and umbilical cord in the bag as well. Emilia Sjoberg, 14, was found dead at an industrial site in Landskrona, Sweden last week. Authorities say she had severe injuries, but have not released her cause of death.
