E18: Mona Bani on how to support social innovators to deliver truly effective local solutions
Mona Bani is the founder and MD at Revoke, a non-profit advocating for the rights and welfare of young displaced people, and co-founder of the award-winning media platform Untelevised, which produces media from the grassroots to explore possibilities for social change.
She has over 10 years of experience in the socio-political sector, ranging from the Cabinet Office, to the refugee camp in Calais, and she's particularly passionate about bridging the gap between those affected by policy and those who shape policy. Her own parents were political refugees and she grew up in Denmark before migrating to the UK as a teenager, and she's appeared on much media speaking against the hostile environment. She's been awarded as one of the 2020 Clore Lived Experience Leaders in the Refugee and Migration sector; a Thirty Percy Changemaker; and an Aspen Leadership fellow.

Naomi is the CEO of Footwork Trust. Their purpose is to create effective, more collaborative models for how places are made and remade that are locally rooted and led; and informed by local knowledge and experience. By identifying, supporting and learning with local social innovators and the communities they serve, Footwork uncovers the barriers to successful placemaking and how best to overcome them.
Naomi is originally an architect, graduating with Distinction from University College London. She worked as a designer in Copenhagen, New York & Chicago before settling in London. Throughout her travels, Naomi witnessed the importance of social justice in building community resilience. Not least in London, where her award winning thesis uncovered the reality of life for older people living in a North London housing estate.

She created an award-winning cultural agency, based in Brazil, producing over 50 events a year including international tours, and managing a roster of artists and a theatre company.

E14: Camilla Chelsea Cole on how to save our high streets, create new community spaces & support the arts
Camilla Cole is an experienced contemporary art curator dedicated to championing leading emerging artistic talent in the UK and internationally.
Hypha Studios was born when Camilla wanted to curate exhibitions in non-gallery contexts, aware of how many interesting spaces were available but empty. As a sole practitioner, she found it hard to engage landlords, but by setting up a charity that offers “quality control” of both the art and use of the space, she was able to bring together emerging artists, councils, property owners and cultural institutions in mutually beneficial collaborations.

Sinead Koehler is the founder and director of Crafty Fox Market & an associate lecturer of the Arts and Cultural Enterprise Masters at Central Saint Martins. Sinead started Crafty Fox Market in 2010 - a modern craft market and community for designer makers. Crafty Fox Market supports artists and makers to sell their work through a variety of in-person shopping events including markets, popup shops and festival concessions. Crafty Fox Market also plays host to an online maker directory and membership and were quick to make the switch to hosting online markets during the pandemic. Over the years, Crafty Fox Market have worked in partnership with a number of cultural and creative organisations including Etsy.com, Ebay, The Museum of London, Shambala Festival and We Out Here festival.

Gordon Seabright became Chief Executive of the Creative Land Trust, a new charity tackling the loss of creative workspace for artists and makers in the UK, in April 2020. The CLT is on a mission to secure the future of London’s studios, as without protection, we risk losing this crucial sector and the many benefits it gives us.Before joining the CLT, Gordon has been leading environmental charities for the past decade, most recently as CEO of the Eden Project, following periods at the helm of the national cycling charity and the Royal Horticultural Society. Gordon is passionate about transformations, turnarounds, and the impact of the arts and the environment on places and communities.

Nicolette has worked with global corporates and governments to resolve strategic stakeholder issues and create development strategies at the intersection of private and public industry (UK, eastern Europe, the Middle East and North Africa and Southern Africa). During her studies in the arts Nicolette worked at the Whitechapel Gallery, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, the Tate and aspreyjacques gallery.
Nicolette holds a Masters in Digital Art History from Birkbeck College, a Diploma in Modern and Contemporary Art and Design from Christie’s Education, and from the University of the Witwatersrand a Postgraduate Diploma in Management (Business Administration) and a Bachelor of Arts.
As Co-director of Outset Contemporary Art Fund, an international, independent charity that pools donations from partners and patron circles to support contemporary art, challenge thinking and further the artistic discourse to inspire new audiences, Nicolette has led Outset’s Studiomakers campaign, that brokers truly affordable spaces for creative production and cultural consumption.
