Injections for Osteoarthritic Knees is a big, evolving, controversial topic. On the one hand, emerging evidence suggests the cheap, easily available steroids are damaging to joints, on the other questions remain over effectiveness of more expensive injectables like Hyaluronic Acid and PRP. Combine that with Physiotherapists having lost the rights to inject PRP and the landscape is turbulent to say the least. Bilal Barkatali discusses all of this with Jack in what will absolutely be seen as a very well nuanced and balanced conversation that assesses the current state of play and provides real information on who to consider for which injectables. Hyaluronic Acid is commonly lumped in with other injectables like PRP, Steroids, stem cells and so on.
