Mission Focused Men for Christ
Gary Yagel
This 20-minute weekly podcast is for Christian men who want to hear, “Well done,” from Jesus, after running the race marked out for them. Its goals are to: 1) EQUIP men to better understand from Scripture their mission, 2) ENCOURAGE men because we fail often, 3) ENERGIZE men because our spiritual tank is often on "empty," 4) EMPOWER men to stay focused on honoring Christ with their lives. The podcast presenter, Dr. Gary Yagel, is known for his practical biblical teaching and encouraging heart. A former church planter in the Presbyterian Church in America, Gary is the founder and Executive Director of Forging Bonds of Brotherhood. He is the author of Got Your Back, and Anchoring Your Child to God's Truth in a Gender-Confused Culture, (available on Amazon) and has taught Making Missional Disciples as a guest professor at Reformed Theological Seminary DC. Leading Your Family Well Through the Corona Virus Crisis
In this episode, we consider ways to lead our homes well during this Corona virus crisis. It begins with caring for the emotional needs of our wives by helping them process their feelings, strongly partnering with them to address our children’s fears, the extra pressures of having the kids home all day, and the opportunity to love our others well during the crisis, especially the elderly. Leadership also requires us to refute the argument that might erode our children’s faith—that a good god would never allow the Corona virus. Our leadership should also include seizing the opportunity to reach out to the lost around us, listening to them well, not feeling the need to explain how the Corona virus is part of God’s good plan, but rather seeking the opportunity to share how our Christian faith delivers to us both God’s personal comfort and confidence about the future. Two resources were especially helpful in this material, The Reason for God, by Tim Keller, and Questioning Evangelism, by Randy Newman. Here is the link to the printed version of this episode.

Maximizing Your Influence for Christ With Your Coworkers
This episode continues the series, entitled, Making a Difference for Christ In the Workplace. It seeks to destroy the myth that sharing our faith means violating our relationships with non-Christians. To the contrary, it is being as winsome as possible in order to win the right to be heard. We do that first by changing our FOCUS--praying for a Christ-like heart for the lost and being intentional about staying focused on those Christ puts on our hearts. It is then being interested listeners, being winsome, expressing care for others, and being real about our struggles with our faith.

The Right Kind of Ambition
Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount is a picture of humanity the way God designed it to be. Jesus begins this message with a portrait of eight inner attitudes that portray the attitudes that reign in our hearts when he sets us free from slavery to sin. This message explains the meaning of the fourth beatitude, Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied. The ambition that is to preoccupy Christ-followers is conforming our lives in every way to God’s moral law, not to get God to love us more but because he already loves us unconditionally. That hunger and thirst for rightness is to spill over to the world around us, where we must devote ourselves to opposing wrong treatment towards all human beings since they are made in the image of God

Meekness: A Widely Misunderstood Requirement of Christ-followers
Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount is a picture of humanity the way God designed it to be. Jesus begins this message with a portrait of eight inner attitudes that portray the attitudes that reign in our hearts when he sets us free from slavery to sin. The third attitude, covered in this episode, is perhaps the most misunderstood of the Christ-like attitudes, meekness. The true meaning is “power under control.” It is the key to overcoming anger and worry. It is also the heart attitude that God honors by pouring out blessings upon us in this life—for they shall inherit the earth.
