Mental Load

This week we chat about the Mental Load! We all carry it in one form or a thousand. We chat about how the division of labour & mental load is carried in our home and how that has changed over the years particularly for Amy. We give tips on how to reduce your mental load by asking for help from others in your home and how having a decluttered home can help everyone! We get interrupted by Kirsty's watch and as always we hope you have a giggle with us and enjoy the conversation! This topic was requested by Bridge from Birth, thanks! This week’s episode is sponsored by Professional Organiser Training by Angela Esnouf from The Professional Organiser’s Edge.Join our community ● Become a Patron with Patreon – your monthly donation makes a huge difference to us being able to producethis podcast. We're Not But We Do

This week we chat with about our jobs! What we do and what we don't do in our profession. This is particularly timely as Marie Kondo's Netflix sensation "Tidying Up" is taking the world by storm. We talk about our ideal clients and some of the preconceived ideas people have of our job. We have a conversation around some of the things that we aren't but we do. For instance, we aren't cleaners but we do clean, we are furniture removalist, but we do move furniture. We aren't rubbish removalist but we do help you to get rid of rubbish and donations. The list goes on...it is a fun episode and as always we hope you have a giggle with us and enjoy the conversation!Join our community ● Become a Patron with Patreon – your monthly donation makes a huge difference to us being able to producethis podcast. Sports Equipment

This week we chat about decluttering your sports equipment. What are you still using? Do you have sport equipment for a sport you haven’t played in 20 years? Should it be moved on to a memorabilia box or donated rather than taking up real estate in your cupboards/garage. Do you have a treadmill that makes you feel guilty every time you look or can you not even see it anymore because it has become a clothes horse? In this episode we encourage you to clear all the clutter off the treadmill and use it or let it go! You also get to hear all about the many different sports and exercise activities of Amy (& Kirsty) and we give you great tips on how to store your equipment and where to donate good condition used items to. As always we hope you have a giggle with us and enjoy the conversation!Questions to ask yourself:Do you still love it? Do you still use it?Are you just holding onto the dream of using it again in the future? Is it in good condition still?Could someone else get more joy from it?Thanks to Owen Gray for the requesting this weeks topic.Join our community ● Become a Patron with Patreon – your monthly donation makes a huge difference to us being able to producethis podcast. Teenagers

This week we chat with about decluttering your teenagers ;-) No, we chat about helping teenagers and parents learn to declutter and stay organised through the fun years! So it is the perfect one to listen to on your smart speaker where the teenager can hear ;-) We give helpful questions to ask yourself and we encourage everyone to value maintaining relationships as a priority over fighting over messy rooms. We know that teenagers intrinsically want to belong and add value beyond themselves so we encourage parents to draw that out of them by encouraging experiences with them. We chat about organising study spaces and encouraging teenagers to research and watch Ted talks on the benefits of a clutter free space while studying. We also have a rant on having food in your bedroom :-) Such a fun and funny episode. As always we hope you have a giggle with us and enjoy the conversation!Questions to ask yourself:Do you still love it? Do you use it?Does it fit with your vision for your space? When was the last time you used it?Could someone else get more joy from it?Minimalist Documentary : https://minimalismfilm.com/Thanks to Felicity Douglas for the requesting this weeks topic.Join our community ● Become a Patron with Patreon – your monthly donation makes a huge difference to us being able to producethis podcast.
