Ep 94 How to raise finance & get distribution for your indie film by cold calling with Nathan VonMinden director of The Challenger Disaster

Giles Alderson sits down with director and writer Nathan VonMinden to chat how he made his indie film The Challenger Disaster by raising finance and getting distribution himself .They chat about how scary and wonderful it is to see your film on a big screen and how you can't hide the flaws when it's up there for all to see. There are no set rules for filmmakers, you find your own path but you have to become a business person and how he phoned around and cold called people to raise the finance to make and distribute the film. How shooting dialogue scenes is hard and you are never as good as your dailies or as bad as your first cut and how it takes a team to make a film. This is a truly inspirational talk about how you can make your indie film happen and all props to Nathan for doing so.WATCH the TRAILER for The Challenger Disaster here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvv2-7iOD_8BUY/RENT/WATCH The Challenger Disaster here https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07M7D8RJ3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_ep_dp_p8ntCbJ6N0D5AFOLLOW Nathan on Twitter here: https://twitter.com/nvonmindenWebsite here: http://www.nathanvonminden.com/LINKSThe Filmmakers WEBINAR - Join host Giles Alderson on 13th Feb online as he goes into detail on how he made his films and what it was like on set as a producer/director and screenwriter. Ep 87 How to Make a feature in Six Days from a short with director & screenwriter Nicole Albarelli, DoP Andrew Rodger and Giles Alderson

This week we chat to screenwriter and director Nicole Albarelli who's film To Dream is released today 18th December, about how she made the film in six days,Making a short film first but loosing her cinematographer and 1stAD the day before shooting and bringing in our host and DoP Andrew Rodger at the last minute. How she turned her 60 minutes short into a feature. Going to festivals, winning awards and then getting picked up by a distributor in Texas who wanted to release the film as a feature so they shot an extra day. Meaning they had made a feature film in 7 days in total. Shooting six or seven scenes a day in many locations made it a tough but very rewarding shootWe discuss working with actors and giving them a background and having them on set in character all the time. Intimacy on set and blocking the actors so they could maximise on the natural lightworking with Adam Deacon during his issues off set and how the lighting and the set design can bring something spectacular to something bleak.LINKSOur OFFICIAL Sponsor of the show:Script Pipeline: http://bit.ly/2zXFMzR Script Pipeline discovers and develops writers for film and television, connecting them to producers, agents, and managers.
