Ryan encourages listeners to look back and see how God has developed their character and trust that the process isn't over yet. God is interested in who we are becoming, not just what we are doing. Ryan compares it to an artist fashioning a beautiful sculpture out of a rough block of wood. The finished masterpiece will point to the artist, not itself. Similarly, as God fashions us through life's difficulties, the process transforms us and brings Him glory.
