We welcome Damon Gough (AKA Badly Drawn Boy) to Headliner Radio on the day he drops his first new record in seven years - and it's a belter. We discuss all things music, working with iconic producers, how to successfully evolve as an artist, and find out why growing a little older and a little wiser really is something to talk about. 

We chat to Ryan Met from eclectic New York-based trio, AJR - three brothers (who at one point all shared one bunk bed!) whose musical story is an interesting one. It's all about staying in the creative headspace for these guys and putting out quality new music which stands up against, and is different to any other AJR project - and it's working out very well. We talk about the creative process, and how AJR's modern, trappy pop/rock sound (all self-produced in their living rooms by the way) is built on a real mix of influences, from Lennon/McCartney and Brian Wilson to Kendrick Lamar and Broadway productions. 

We chat to one of the world's finest violinists, Joshua Bell, about his life in music, picking up the violin at four years old and turning professional by 14, experimenting on the New York subway, and creating the Joshua Bell Violin with virtual instrument manufacturer, Embertone, which means any budding composer can have a go at emulating the tone of his multi-million dollar Stradivarius.  

We catch up with revered LA-based artist, Jauz - one of the most hard working creatives we've come across. He's a successful producer, songwriter, and DJ in pretty much equal measure, and his collaborations are also something to behold. We chat about his Dangerous Waters tour and EP, his intense schedule, and staying creative during quarantine. 

In Episode 4 of Live Sessions we chat to BRIT Award-winning artist, Tom Walker, about his amazing musical journey. We chat to Sybil Bell, founder of Independent Venue Week, about the company's core initiative, how we can help save live music, the problems with government policy on the subject, and how she and her incredible team have expanded into the US. 

We chat to super talented singer-songwriter and blues guitarist, Cristina Vane. Hailing from Europe, she moved to the US to study, and started busking on the Venice boardwalk in California to build up a musical following before moving to Nashville to further pursue her craft. She hones in on country blues, delta blues, and American folk music, and her signature bottleneck playing and strong vocals are unmistakeable. 

In the first episode in our Music Culture series, we chat to Shingai (frontwoman of Noisettes and multi-talented creative) and Ryan Koriya, an extremely hard working and passionate musical entrepreneur. The two artists have proud Zimbabwean heritage, and have just collaborated on the first Zim film to hit Netflix - quite a moment. Ryan has done the score, and Noisettes music features in the movie - with Shingai playing a cool cameo (as herself..!). Furthermore, we are excited to be the first publication to play Shingai's upcoming new single, 'War Drums', which is out on Monday (May 18th). It's got soul, plenty of rhythm, and sounds... well, like only Shingai can. Enjoy!
