NOTA BENE: This Week in the Art World
Benjamin Godsill & Nate Freeman
NOTA BENE is the podcast version of a boozy lunch at Sant Ambroeus in which adviser Benjamin Godsill and Vanity Fair art columnist Nate Freeman dish fresh art world gossip from Dimes Square to Mayfair, peel back the curtain on auctions, galleries and fairs—and, critically, tell you where to eat and drink in every museum-stuffed port of call. Plus there’s a special guest each week, and we’ll roast them good regardless of how much clout they carry on the circuit. It’s NOTA BENE. Don’t close the deal until you tune in.

Quick Hits & Technical Difficulties
It may be late but its not stale. Check out a quick pod we did last week recapping private clubs and LA VIbes. Since then we've been on planes and prepping for european art fairs. Let this sate your appetite until next week when we bring you not one but TWO episodes from the rain (and crime) sodden streets of Mayfair.

Art for the Future with guest Bridget Finn
Benjamin and Nate gab it up filling you in on all the week's artworld news including a preview of the return of Nate's Vanity Fair Column, an important meal, curatorial moves, Tillmans at MoMA and lots more gossip.
We are then joined by Detroit Gallerist Bridget Finn to discuss FLOURISH: ART for the Future - a charity auction she has organized which will be included in the Post-War to Present sale taking place at Christie's on 29 September in New York. A variety of highly sought-after contemporary artists have generously donated works the proceeds of which will go towards benefiting research to cure STXBP1 disorders like the one her young daughter was diagnosed with. Bridget has a highly personal story for how she got involved in this cause which she shares with us, as well as the tale of how she was able to tap the amazing network she has nurtured throughout her life in the artworld to rally support. She's an amazing woman and has assembled an auction you won't want to miss bidding early and often on.

A Hug From the Artworld with Guest ADAM COHEN
Tune-in for a special Saturday drop. After an introduction featuring all the dining (Corner Bar!, Le Rock!, Lodi! Cookshop!, L'avenue!). Plus the evils of apple picking AND Glen Lowery's mealy-mouthed justifications for a sale of art to fund the MoMA's digital outreach. 70 Million bucks must hire a lot of web designers.
We are then joined by A Hug From The Art World founder, the irrepressible Adam Cohen, to discuss how a pop-up turned into an apparel business and has now manifest itself as a beautiful townhouse gallery. We dig into his background in the arts, the dearly departed Moran's and how Larry took the news of one of his top salespeople opening up a side project.

Nate and Benjamin are back to break down the end of summer blues and the upcoming season including a blockbuster estate sale at Christie's, shenanigans at an LA art-world canteen, and a profile of downtown's favorite fascist-adjacent PR.
We are then joined by David Kordansky, one of the most important gallerists of his generation, along with longtime friend and gallery artist Joel Mesler to discuss the Chinatown (LA) gallery scene in the early years of the 21st Century. David and Joel have a relationship that now spans twenty years across a variety of permutations and their knowledge of each other bring insights and laughs. Join us as David discusses having Joel as his first gallery landlord and they both reflect on some of the key personalities of this important moment in the evolution of the Los Angeles gallery scene.
