You Belong

We all have a core need to belong. As infants, we seek this secure belonging through our parents and caregivers, primarily from our mothers, and this attachment frames our sense of belonging throughout our lives. Join Stasi as she shares this hopeful message on what it means to belong to God, who is our El Shaddi—the One who provides all that we need, who cares for us, and who lovingly says to us, Daughter, you are mine, and you belong. God is our essential attachment, and our soul coming home. Show Notes:Verses: Romans 12:5 (NIV) — so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.Psalm 23:1 (TPT) —  Yahweh is my best friend and my shepherd. I always have more than enough. Isaiah 44:5 (NIV) — Some will say, ‘I belong to the Lord’; others will call themselves by the name of Jacob; still others will write on their hand, ‘The Lord’s,’ and will take the name Israel.Deuteronomy 8:7-9 (NIV) — For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land—a land with brooks, streams, and deep springs gushing out into the valleys and hills; a land with wheat and barley, vines and fig trees, pomegranates, olive oil and honey; a land where bread will not be scarce and you will lack nothing; a land where the rocks are iron and you can dig copper out of the hills.Quote: J. I. Packer from Knowing God “What matters supremely, therefore, is not, in the last analysis, the fact that I know God, but the larger fact which underlies it—the fact that He knows me. I am graven on the palms of His hands; I am never out of His mind. “

We Will Overcome

By remembering what is true, we hold onto the Promise that everlasting joy is our inheritance. As we step into Easter, Stasi reminds us that even in the midst of overwhelming heartbreak, Jesus is victorious, and in that, our hope rests. Friends, sorrow, pain, and loss do not have the final word nor does it define us. We will overcome because Jesus has overcome.SHOW NOTES:Verses: Hebrews 10:23 (NIV) — Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. Nehemiah 8:10 (NIV) — …Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.Zephaniah 3:17 (NIV) — The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.Matthew 7:25 (NIV) — The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.Psalms 32:11 (NIV) — Rejoice in the Lord and be glad, you righteous; sing, all you who are upright in heart! What is Right with Us

Cherie Snyder joins Stasi in this week's podcast for an honest conversation, filled with mercy and kindness, on anxiety. Anxiety is rooted in the debilitating fear that we are unworthy, unloved, and imperfect. Our human condition has made this feel unsafe, and so we often turn to false lovers to be soothed. But take heart: these feelings are not what is wrong with us, but what is right. Jesus has not abandoned us here. Through his mercy we can know we are seen by God and secure in his love.Show Notes:Verses: Psalm 31:9-12 (NIV) — Be merciful to me, Lord, for I am in distress; my eyes grow weak with sorrow,    my soul and body with grief. My life is consumed by anguish and my years by groaning; my strength fails because of my affliction, and my bones grow weak. Because of all my enemies, I am the utter contempt of my neighbors and an object of dread to my closest friends—those who see me on the street flee from me. I am forgotten as though I were dead; I have become like broken pottery.Philippians 4:6 (NIV) — Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.Books:The Sacred Romance by Brent Curtis and John Eldredge

Dreaming with God

God dreams big, and he invites us to dream big with him—the desires in our hearts unique to each of us have been planted by him. Dreaming with God allows us to access these places in our hearts where desire dwells and to hear his voice. It awakens hope and possibility and allows us to see ourselves as he sees us. After all, nothing is too big for God, including our deepest desires.Show Notes:Books: Becoming Myself by Stasi EldredgeHappy Birthday to You! By Dr. Seuss: “Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is you-er than you.”Scripture:2 Corinthians 3:18 — And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate[a] the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.Song of Songs 4:1 — You are beautiful, my darling, beautiful beyond words. Your eyes are like doves(00:15:53)  Take some time and allow your thoughts to dream with God. Sit with God and ask him to reveal and awaken your heart's desires. Here are some questions you can ask him to help you explore. It’s ok if it’s difficult to name the desire, but ask God to access to places where these desires are planted:What do you feel makes you particularly you? What do you like? What do you daydream about? If you could do anything, knowing it would go swimmingly well, what would it be?What do you want to be true of yourself? What do you want the impact of your life to be?Ask God, "what do you want for me?"
