Severed: The Ultimate Severance Podcast

ANOTHER GREAT INTERVIEW THIS WEEK, REFINER!!No 'Severance' production person is safe! Vinny P. is tracking them down and locking them into interview slots for the show. This week we talked to a legendary figure in the world of 'Severance' props and set dec. We've got "Penko the Sculptor"!!Penko's last name, Platikanov, is a bit of a mouthful. Rather than say it incorrectly, the folks around the 'Severance' set have gone to referring to this incredibly talented man as "Penko the Sculptor".  This is also a succint description of what he does around here. If it's a thing that's a little off...like say the Irv-head melon, or the statue of Kier in the town square...Penko probably had something to do with it. Penko is the 'anti-CGI' guy. Much of what he does I have attributed to CGI throughout my re-watch of the show. Nope! Those amazing visual tricks...like a dead seal carcass along the path, or a big statue in the town square...are all practical effects. Penko is that good. He's creating things you would believe were CGI if you didn't know any better. You're gonna love this guy! Hit 'play' Refiner! Catherine and her crew are responsible for everything a performer picks up, sits on, walks around...if it's 'stuff', it's a prop! She has some fascinating stories about the stuff we see every episode on 'Severance.' READY FOR A ROADTRIP, REFINER?!Harmony Cobel is headed home, and we're going with her. She's taking a long run up the coast to the little harbor town of Salt's Neck. It's where Harmony grew up and Lumon used to own a huge Ether Mill.The Ether Mill is long gone. With it went most of the residents. The ones who remain are dirt poor and addicted to ether. Celestine "Sissy" Cobel lives out on the point all alone in that very solitary house. She's the only one in town to still keep to the old ways...she lives by 'The Nine' and a belief in Kier. Sissy is Harmony Cobel's aunt. Charlotte, Harmony's mother was Sissy's sister.
