On today's Daily Puck Drop, Puck goes over last night's miserable Mariners game. Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy play by the M's. Defensive miscues and poor at bats. Why does this keep happening at the beginning of every season?In case you missed it, Puck had John Canzano on the show yesterday and John dropped a report that Washington president Ana Marie Cauce will announce in the next six months that she will step down as president. Cauce played a major role in the collapse of the Pac-12. Puck asks Husky fans how should she be remembered?Puck also reacts to the hiring of David Riley, new mens basketball coach at WSU. Riley spent the last few seasons at Eastern Washington. Puck says Riley has one major goal right about of the shoot and that's to convince Myles Rice to come back.

Local ingredients and local craft beer! On today's show, Puck and John talk about their inspiration to go out on their own and what led to their decisions to work for themselves.  The conversation then turns toward the Iowa and LSU game and both marvel at the athleticism, physicality and speed of the game and whether or not Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese can make like a "Magic/Bird" transition to the WNBA. John talks about the three-point line fiasco in Portland where the court had two different three-point lines and how the mistake happened, who is to blame and who the person was that tipped of the NCAA about the issue. Spoiler...it was a fan sitting in the 300 level who noticed the discrepancy . Puck then turns his anger toward Pat Chun leaving WSU for UW and John tries to walk him off the ledge, but Puck is having none of it.  Puck calls him a "Benedict Arnold!"   John also reveals that Washington President Ana Marie Cauce will likely soon leave as president and that an announcement could happen in the next 5-6 months.  Multiple insiders and athletic directors are aware of the move, but not sure of the reason.  John ultimately thinks this will be a good thing for the Huskies, because Cauce has stumbled as president in regards to athletics. They then turn their attention to Kyle Smith and his decision to leave Pullman and head to Stanford. Also, the Montana State hoops coach turns WSU down.  How big of a problem is that for WSU? John thinks it's not an issue, but they need to find the right coach soon. Finally, what's the future ownership of both the Blazers and Seahawks?  Jody Allen is the head of the trust and she must sell off all of her brothers assets. So, why has she not done so yet?  John gives his answer....money. 

On today's Daily Puck Drop, Puck gets into last nights Mariners win and the unbelievable defense displayed by Julio Rodriguez.  Mitch Haniger also stole the show defensively with a play that was key into keeping the Mariners in the game. Emerson Hancock was very, very good in his debut. Ty France with an AB that shows signs he's getting better and improving on where he's been last few years.  Scott Servais gets chippy with Aaron Levine. If he's like this not only a week into the season it's going to be a long year for him. Over to hoops, Iowa and LSU was sensational theater. Caitlin Clark does something that very few people in this sport can do and she should be applauded for it.   Montana State hoops coach turned down WSU? Things are not good on the Palouse!  UW could be losing a top hoops recruit.   Find out who it is.  The Masters is coming up next week and the legendary Verne Lundquist is calling it quits after 40 years. Absolute legend Puck reflects on what Lundquist meant to him and the sport. Finally, Puck teases his new golf podcast that will debut on Monday in time for the Masters. 

Former MLB GM Jim Duquette from MLB Network Radio joins Puck for his weekly Monday visit all brought to you by Flatstick Pub.  On this weeks show Jim and Puck talk about the slow start for the Mariners and why they can't get off to a better start and why the strikeouts are still a major problem.  They also talk about the red hot start of Juan Soto and why the Yankees are such a better fit for him and why he decided to focus on his defensive approach this offseason and they chat about the ongoing distraction that Shohei Ohtani is facing and how it will effect him moving forward with the Dodgers. 

Bill Krueger of ROOT Sports stops by for his weekly visit with Puck to discuss the series with Boston. Despite acquiring players that were supposed to strikeout less, the Mariners have continued their problem from a year ago and it's even worse than a year ago. Why? Bill has thoughts. They also talk about the pitching performances from George Kirby and Logan Gilbert and what makes them so effective. Bill says there is something they both do that Luis Castillo could take advantage of. Lastly, they talk about Bill's foundation, Rise Above and their upcoming celebrity golf tournament at Snoqualmie Ridge in June and you can be a part of the action!

On today's Daily Puck Drop, Friday, March 29. Puck reacts to the Mariners opener. No doubt the highlight was the flame wielding trident guy! Castillo not sharp, but Mitch Haniger looked great. Pat Chun leaves for UW?! One of the most turncoat moves you'll find in college athletics. Puck wishes him nothing but disappoint and regret.  Kyle Smith makes the right choice because it was the right choice for his family. Finally, Jamal Adams coming back?? Please say no...like, really, say no! 

Puck goes more in depth on why he decided to leave KJR and the difficult decision that it was, but a necessary one.  Most importantly he wanted to thank the listeners for all the unbelievable kind words since his departure.
