Michael-Shawn Dugar, The Athletic joins Jason “Puck” Puckett to talk Seahawks. What’s the injury situation with the Seahawks?  Good news and bad news on the injury front. What happened to the Seahawks defense against the Green Bay Packers and was it a step back for Mike Macdonald’s defense?  Are Macdonald and offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb on the same page?   An intriguing matchup coming up on Sunday are the wide receivers between the Seahawks and Vikings.    The Vikings game is not technically a must win game, but in reality it is a must win game for Seattle.    What’s going on with Riq Woolen?  

Mike Garafolo, NFL Network joins Jason “Puck” Puckett for his weekly visit to talk all things NFL.   They start off with a piece from The Athletic that details the absolute dysfunction inside the New York Jets facility. Aaron Rogers hints at coming back in 2025 and even said he’d be willing to mentor a younger quarterback.  Garafolo and Puck don’t believe him.  Michael Penix has been named the starter for the Atlanta Falcons and it was awesome to see where he was getting lunch when he got the phone call about being the new QB.    Puck asks Garafolo about who he thinks will win the NFC West….Rams or Seahawks??   Saquon Barkley has a shot at the NFL rushing title and he could break the record in the final game of the season against his former team, the New York Giants.   Intriguing game on Thursday between the Broncos and Chargers and the playoff implications.  Russell Wilson wants to stay in Pittsburgh and what will that cost the Steelers?  What will the Vikings do with Sam Darnold?  Lastly, Mike is hungover and it’s lasted a week! 

On today’s Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett is joined by Jim Moore and an emergency visit with John Canzano from JohnCanzano.com to discuss the departure of Washington State Cougars head coach Jake Dickert. Jim joins Puck for an hour to discuss the move and then Canzano jumps on for the final thirty minutes of the show to give a behind the scenes look to what transpired and what led Dickert to bolt for Wake Forest. Why did Dickert leave? The move obviously changes how Puck and Jim view Dickert.  Is there an understanding to why Dickert left?  Puck once again referenced his common line with coaches, they all are Professional Liars. Now that Dickert is gone and over 20 players are in the transfer portal, including 10 starters.  Do the Cougars have enough players to play in the Holiday Bowl against Syracuse?   Should the school even allow them to play?Canzano takes Puck behind the scenes to the departure and why it’s critical for Washington State athletic director Anne McCoy to move fast with a new hire.   John asks the question how culpable is the WSU Board of Regents?  Did the Regents make a mistake of not locking him up to a contract sooner?  Why did Dickert choose Wake Forest, a historically bad football program?  Canzano opines that Dickert was just fed up with the system and wanted a change of scenery.    Dickert’s abrupt departure calls into question his commitment to the team late in the season.  Was there late season collapse a result of he and other coaches not being full engaged with WSU?Finally, Puck wraps up the show with “Hey, What the Puck!?” College sports have been forever ruined. No turning back.  Loyalty and commitment are the way of the past.

Good news for Seattle because as Puck noted, you don’t want to see  Sam Howell play.  Another Washington State player hits the portal and the latest moves has Puck worked up because the agent for Fa’alili Fa’amoe tried to extort the collective and the coaches.  Three games remain for Seattle and they still control their own destiny. Danny Kelly, The Ringer, joins Jason “Puck” Puckett for his weekly chat about the NFL, Seahawks and fantasy football advice.  Danny and Puck joke that the Hawks are back to sucking after their Packers loss. Both agree that they expected the loss, but not in that fashion. Sure appears the 49ers are done and could Kyle Shanahan be on his way out?  Would they consider trading him to the Chicago Bears?  Are they really going to pay Brock Purdy top quarterback money??what arch is the right fit for Caleb Williams?  Sure feels Kliff Kingsbury will get another shot in the NFL and it could be with the Bears.  Puck contends that USC would love for Lincoln Riley to jump to the NFL and join the Bears.  Bill Belichick is at North Carolina because no one wanted him in the NFL…why?  NFL teams don’t want to give up power to an ego maniac. Football season winding down and that means fantasy football playoff time. Monday’s Daily Puck Drop with Jason “Puck” Puckett featured appearances from Jim Moore and the Ground Puck Seahawks Podcast with Tim Booth, Seattle Times and Curtis Crabtree, FOX 13. Puck and Jim break right into the news that John Mateer is leaving Washington State and heading into the portal.  Both express massive disappointment that Mateer is leaving but understand that nature of the business especially with the financial figures being thrown out. Will other plays now follow and could that mean the Cougars may not have enough bodies for the Holiday Bowl against Syracuse?  Should they even play the game anymore?  Puck is not angered by Mateer, he’s angry with the system of college football. The Seahawks game was a letdown.  Seattle was dominated in every aspect of the game and showed why they are not in the class of the Packers and other Super Bowl contending NFC teams.  We got our first look at Sam Howell and it wasn’t good.
