Plus, John Canzano, JohnCanzano.com.   Puck opens the show recapping last nights Mariners game and says he was mildly encouraged by the Mariners offense. Monday’s Daily Puck Drop with Jason “Puck” Puckett features the Go-2-Guy Jim Moore.  Puck and Jim react to the first weekend of Mariners baseball.  Both Puck and Jim are not all that upset with the start because it’s what they expected the offense to be.  Jim is still having technical issues in trying to figure how to watch the Mariners on his TV.   Jim asks Puck if he thinks Julio will turn into the super star that everyone thinks he will. Is it fair to ask?   Puck introduces Puck the Picker Majors Pool with the grand prize being a trip to Gamble Sands golf course.   After Jim leaves, it’s The Sports Pit podcast with Puck and KJR alums Steve Sandmeyer and Matt “Stretch” Johnson.  Puck plays an edited 20 minute version of the hour-plus show that comes out every Monday.  They touch on the opening series with the Mariners and A’s and Sandy was surprised about the lack of energy inside the stadium.   Lastly, “What the Puck?!” Don’t panic yet, but the four games are a microcosm of the last four years of Mariners baseball. 

On Today’s Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett is joined by the Go-2-Guy Jim Moore and Chris Egan from King 5.  Puck and Jim open up the show talking about last night’s Mariners win and Puck was wondering if Jim was able to stream the game on the new Root Sports app.  They talk about the incredible game from Jorge Polanco, the pitching of Logan Gilbert and the play of Ryan Bliss.  Jim also busts Puck’s balls about his first anniversary show yesterday.   Egan joins the show and jumps in on the Mariners lover from the opener and shares his excitement for the season to start.  Egan tells a hilarious story about his junior high basketball team suffering the worst loss he’s ever experienced in his coaching career. On today’s Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett debuts his new podcast with Steve Sandmeyer and Matt “Stretch” Johnson called The Sports Pit.  The three worked together at KJR with Sandy and Stretch spending many years on the morning show with Mitch Levy.  The three friends cover everything from Stretch getting a new hip, degenerate gambling, our love for baseball, made up sports debate, love for Climate Pledge, Sonics return, cost of an expansion team, Sandy’s disdain for podcasts and “ball know it alls.”  Puck wraps up the show with “Hey, What the Puck!?” On the eve of the baseball season, Puck says tomorrow is one of the best days in the sports calendar. (0:00) Puck opens up the show and promotes his new podcast, The Sports Pit (7:27 ) Stretch is rubbing some type of cream over his body and details his upcoming hip surgery. Tuesday’s Daily Puck Drop with Jason “Puck” Puckett starts off the show teasing a brand new podcast that debuts on Wednesday called The Sportspit that features past KJR hosts and longtime friends, Steve Sandmeyer and Matt “Stretch” Johnson.  Puck plays a five minute teaser clip of the show.  The full podcast comes out on Wednesday and initially will be available to all, but eventually you’ll need to join Puck’s Posse to get full access to the podcast.  Puck welcomed his weekly guests, Danny Kelly of The Ringer to discuss the lead up to the NFL draft, Seahawks adding to their wide receiver “Lunch Pail” group, no offensive line movement, Cam Ward going # 1, difficulty of drafting a quarterback and what Seattle does at 18.   After Danny departs, John Canzano from JohnCanzano.com drops by to discuss breaking news at Stanford with new GM Andrew Luck firing football coach Troy Taylor.  Plus, is college basketball in danger of losing its March Madness and how much is NIL truly factoring in?  Some universities are feeling the financial pressure of the new look college athletics and are dropping down in divisions in order not to pay their athletes. On Monday’s Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett and Jim Moore open up the show discussing the NCAA tournament and trying to figure out what a travel is anymore in basketball! Puck and Jim react to the exciting games, especially Arizona and Oregon and why it made them sentimental for the Pac-12.  They also discussed opening day for the Mariners this week and the decision to release Mitch Haniger, their new streaming options and their new Nintendo patches on their jerseys.  Jim was having some technical issues with his internet so his appearance was cut short and Puck talked the rest of the show about the outlook for the Mariners, what he saw in spring training when he went down their last week and has his opinion changed after seeing them in person. Puck is optimizing with the season around the corner, but not overly optimistic.  Puck wraps up the show with, “Hey, What the Puck!?” It appears Seattle has cleared another hurdle with NBA expansion but are there more hurdles along the way?
