Welcome to the Orthodox Christian podcast channel in honor and memory of Fr Seraphim Rose (1934-1982). Fr Seraphim was a hieromonk, author and speaker who dedicated his life to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and calling modern man to repentance, faith and true life in Christ. From his remote monastic cabin in the mountains of northern California, he produced writings that have reached millions throughout the earth. Today he is one of the most beloved spiritual teachers in America, Russia and Europe. His spoken and written teaching have changed countless lives with their sobering truth.

B04. Fr Seraphim Rose: Christ is Calling You
Of a Protestant Christian upbringing and educated in the academic environment of linguistic sciences, Eugene Rose was chrismated as an Orthodox Christian in 1962 and became a disciple of St John Maximovitch of San Francisco. He founded the monastery of St Herman of Alaska in Platina, California, where he was tonsured into monastic life would later publish a series of books which rendered accessible to modern youth the ancient wisdom and life experience of the Holy Fathers of Orthodoxy.A few weeks before his blessed repose (September 2, 1982) Fr Seraphim gave a homily on ‘Living the Orthodox Worldview’, in which he refers to the famous spiritual counsels of Fr Gheorghe Calciu, recounted in this recording, who was then imprisoned in Aiud. Unfortunately, they did not meet personally, with Fr Gheorghe being expelled to the USA only in 1985. B11. Fr Seraphim Rose: The Future of Russia and the End of the Age (1981)
On September 2, 1982, Hieromonk Seraphim (Rose) of blessed memory reposed in the Lord after years of monastic labors in the St. Herman of Alaska Monastery, Platina, California, which he co-founded. His legacy lives on around the world, and especially in Russia, a country about which he often wrote. The experience of Orthodox believers in Russia was a major theme in Fr. Seraphim's lectures and writings, and he often used them to illustrate important points concerning contemporary Orthodox life. Although the following lecture was presented in 1981, before the fall of communism in Russia and the collapse of the Soviet Union—events essentially described in the prophecies Fr. Seraphim cites - and much else has happened which Fr. Seraphim did not live to see, the message of his lecture continues to be relevant.
