Eve’s Diary by Mark Twain ~ Full Audiobook [comedy]

Eve’s Diary by Mark Twain audiobook. Genre: comedyEve’s Diary is a humorous monologue about Eve’s experiences at the dawn of creation. She is fascinated by every aspect of the new world around her and… Adam! The following is an extract from Adam:“She is all interest, eagerness, vivacity, the world is to her a charm, a wonder, a mystery, a joy; she can’t speak for delight when she finds a new flower, she must pet it and caress it and smell it and talk to it…. And she is color-mad: brown rocks, yellow sand, gray moss, green foliage, blue sky…none of them is of any practical value, so far as I can see, but because they have color and majesty, that is enough for her, and she loses her mind over them…. If there is anything on the planet that she is not interested in, it is not in my list.”For ad-free listening try our premium subscription Chapters (Approximate)(00:00:00) Chapter 1(00:12:13) Chapter 2(00:22:52) Chapter 3 Learn more about your ad choices. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain ~ Full Audiobook [adventure]

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain audiobook. Genre: adventureAdventures of Huckleberry Finn (1884) by Mark Twain is one of the truly great American novels, beloved by children, adults, and literary critics alike. The book tells the story of “Huck” Finn (first introduced as Tom Sawyer’s sidekick in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer), his friend Jim, and their journey down the Mississippi River on a raft. Both are on the run, Huck from his drunk and abusive father, and Jim as a runaway slave. As Huck and Jim drift down the river, they meet many colorful characters and have many great adventures. The true heart of the story, however, is the friendship between Huck and Jim. A constant theme throughout the book is Huck’s internal struggle between what he has been taught, that helping a runaway slave is a sin, and what he truly believes, that Jim is a good man and it couldn’t possibly be wrong to help him.Adventures of Huckleberry Finn was unique at the time of its publication (1884) because it is narrated by Huck himself and is written in the numerous dialects common in the area and time in which the book is set. Although the book was originally intended as a sequel to the children’s book The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, as Twain wrote Adventures of Huckleberry Finn it progressed into a more serious work. Twain’s views on slavery and other social issues of the time become clear through the words, thoughts, and actions of Huck Finn. The book has always been the subject of great controversy, and according to The American Library Association it was fifth on the list of most frequently challenged books in the 1990s.For ad-free listening try our premium subscription Chapters (Approximate)(00:00:00) Chapter 1(00:04:59) Chapter 2(00:12:57) Chapter 3(00:26:20) Chapter 4(00:36:29) Chapter 5(00:46:00) Chapter 6(00:56:08) Chapter 7(01:13:13) Chapter 8(01:29:05) Chapter 9(01:59:18) Chapter 10(02:09:20) Chapter 11(02:18:17) Chapter 12(02:34:04) Chapter 13(02:53:14) Chapter 14(03:06:21) Chapter 15(03:17:24) Chapter 16(03:32:48) Chapter 17(03:54:20) Chapter 18(04:15:46) Chapter 19(04:46:12) Chapter 20(05:08:08) Chapter 21(05:30:59) Chapter 22(05:54:54) Chapter 23(06:08:56) Chapter 24(06:24:35) Chapter 25(06:39:55) Chapter 26(07:00:07) Chapter 27(07:18:38) Chapter 28(07:35:33) Chapter 29(07:58:07) Chapter 30(08:22:38) Chapter 31(08:30:41) Chapter 32(08:54:28) Chapter 33(09:08:52) Chapter 34(09:25:22) Chapter 35(09:39:57) Chapter 36(09:57:19) Chapter 37(10:11:33) Chapter 38(10:27:10) Chapter 39(10:43:39) Chapter 40(10:57:41) Chapter 41(11:12:27) Chapter 42(11:29:07) Chapter 43(11:49:13) Chapter 44 Learn more about your ad choices. King Arthur by Joseph Comyns Carr ~ Full Audiobook [tragedy]

King Arthur by Joseph Comyns Carr audiobook. Genre: tragedyJoseph Comyns Carr's King Arthur is a stage drama in a prologue and four acts that reshapes the familiar Arthurian legend into a sweeping, pageant-like tale of ideals tested at the height of Camelot. From the mystic promise of Excalibur to the solemn call of the Holy Grail, Arthur struggles to weld a fractured realm into a kingdom worthy of justice, courage, and spiritual purpose. Around the Round Table, the noblest vows are also the most fragile: knights are pulled between sacred duty and human desire, and even the court's brightest ceremonies can mask gathering shadows. At the story's emotional center are Arthur, Queen Guinevere, and Sir Lancelot, bound by love, loyalty, and the unbearable cost of divided allegiance. As rumors harden into accusations and treachery creeps closer to the throne, Camelot becomes a battleground not only of swords but of conscience. Written in a consciously medieval tone and designed for grand theatrical spectacle, Carr's drama explores chivalry, temptation, faith, and the price of trying to build a perfect world with imperfect hearts. For ad-free listening try our premium subscription Chapters (Approximate)(00:00:00) Chapter 0(00:12:39) Chapter 1(00:49:38) Chapter 2(01:05:53) Chapter 3(01:32:17) Chapter 4 Learn more about your ad choices. The Sea Voyage by John Fletcher ~ Full Audiobook [drama]

The Sea Voyage by John Fletcher audiobook. Genre: dramaAlbert, a handsome French pirate, and his crew get shipwrecked on a barren, rocky island after a severe storm. They encounter another pair of castaways who reveal a quite unusual secret- yet another strange group of people inhabit the island. Albert soon learns that these people are actually an Amazonian-like tribe of women, and proposes an alliance for the benefit of both parties. Love and hijinks ensue in a battle of the sexes.Notable for imitating many elements of William Shakespeare's The Tempest, the collaborators also consulted nonfictional traveler's accounts to bring their vision to life. Frequently re-envisioned by other playwrights and performed with considerable popularity, it is now considered a fascinating play in that it highlights the Jacobean excitement over colonialism and their attitudes towards it.For ad-free listening try our premium subscription Chapters (Approximate)(00:00:00) Chapter 1(00:28:20) Chapter 2(00:47:54) Chapter 3(01:10:04) Chapter 4(01:37:22) Chapter 5 Learn more about your ad choices. Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen ~ Full Audiobook [romance]

Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen audiobook. Genre: romanceWhen the Dashwood family loses their estate, two sisters - practical Elinor and passionately romantic Marianne - are pushed from comfort into uncertainty, forced to rebuild their lives on a far smaller income and under the watchful gaze of society. As they settle into a new home, each sister faces a different kind of trial: Elinor must quietly manage disappointment and duty when her steady affection for Edward Ferrars collides with family pressure and old promises, while Marianne throws herself into sweeping emotion and public devotion, first charmed by the dashing John Willoughby and later challenged by the reserved Colonel Brandon. Around them swirl meddling relatives, sharp-tongued neighbors, and the relentless arithmetic of reputation, money, and marriage. Moving between drawing-room wit and genuine heartbreak, Sense and Sensibility asks what it costs to live by reason alone - and what it risks to live by feeling alone. As the sisters navigate love, betrayal, and the limits placed on women of their class, they learn that maturity may require both self-command and courage of the heart. For ad-free listening try our premium subscription Chapters (Approximate)(00:00:00) Chapter 01(00:09:21) Chapter 02(00:20:05) Chapter 03(00:28:52) Chapter 04(00:39:52) Chapter 05(00:45:49) Chapter 06(00:53:14) Chapter 07(01:00:44) Chapter 08(01:07:41) Chapter 09(01:17:42) Chapter 10(01:29:24) Chapter 11(01:37:50) Chapter 12(01:47:04) Chapter 13(01:58:20) Chapter 14(02:06:27) Chapter 15(02:20:29) Chapter 16(02:31:57) Chapter 17(02:41:05) Chapter 18(02:49:30) Chapter 19(03:04:57) Chapter 20(03:16:50) Chapter 21(03:33:01) Chapter 22(03:48:26) Chapter 23(04:01:32) Chapter 24(04:12:53) Chapter 25(04:23:10) Chapter 26(04:37:10) Chapter 27(04:51:50) Chapter 28(05:00:26) Chapter 29(05:21:59) Chapter 30(05:38:41) Chapter 31(06:00:29) Chapter 32(06:14:32) Chapter 33(06:30:44) Chapter 34(06:45:51) Chapter 35(06:58:46) Chapter 36(07:14:47) Chapter 37(07:37:23) Chapter 38(07:52:46) Chapter 39(08:03:41) Chapter 40(08:17:27) Chapter 41(08:30:58) Chapter 42(08:41:17) Chapter 43(09:01:28) Chapter 44(09:31:49) Chapter 45(09:44:32) Chapter 46(10:01:32) Chapter 47(10:14:55) Chapter 48(10:22:28) Chapter 49(10:45:37) Chapter 50(11:00:34) Chapter 01(11:10:28) Chapter 02(11:22:25) Chapter 03(11:32:10) Chapter 04(11:44:04) Chapter 05(11:50:28) Chapter 06(11:58:08) Chapter 07(12:05:31) Chapter 08(12:13:11) Chapter 09(12:24:13) Chapter 10(12:37:09) Chapter 11(12:45:55) Chapter 12(12:55:22) Chapter 13(13:07:46) Chapter 14(13:16:30) Chapter 15(13:31:33) Chapter 16(13:43:02) Chapter 17(13:52:36) Chapter 18(14:01:22) Chapter 19(14:16:51) Chapter 20(14:29:20) Chapter 21(14:44:28) Chapter 22(14:59:17) Chapter 23(15:12:13) Chapter 24(15:23:29) Chapter 25(15:33:17) Chapter 26(15:46:26) Chapter 27(15:59:56) Chapter 28(16:07:42) Chapter 29(16:28:48) Chapter 30(16:44:25) Chapter 31(17:05:57) Chapter 32(17:19:41) Chapter 33(17:35:11) Chapter 34(17:49:33) Chapter 35(18:02:13) Chapter 36(18:18:06) Chapter 37(18:41:19) Chapter 38(18:56:01) Chapter 39(19:06:13) Chapter 40(19:20:10) Chapter 41(19:33:48) Chapter 42(19:43:26) Chapter 43Max Character Limit reached Learn more about your ad choices. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen ~ Full Audiobook [romance]

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen audiobook. Genre: romanceIn the rolling countryside of Regency England, the sharp-witted Elizabeth Bennet navigates a world where money, manners, and marriage determine a family's future. With five daughters and an uncertain inheritance, the Bennets face mounting pressure to secure advantageous matches, especially as eligible gentlemen arrive in the neighborhood and set society buzzing. Elizabeth, however, refuses to treat romance as a transaction. Her lively intelligence and stubborn sense of justice collide with the expectations placed on women, and with the proud, enigmatic Mr. Darcy, whose reserve and status provoke both curiosity and resentment. As gatherings, visits, and whispered judgments entangle friends and rivals alike, Elizabeth must weigh first impressions against hard evidence and learn how easily pride can distort perception. Meanwhile, her sister Jane's quiet hope for love is tested by interference and misunderstanding, and the family's social standing teeters under the consequences of thoughtless behavior. Funny, incisive, and deeply humane, Pride and Prejudice explores how people misread one another, how character is revealed under pressure, and what it takes to choose love with clear eyes in a society built on appearances. For ad-free listening try our premium subscription Chapters (Approximate)(00:00:00) Chapter 1(00:04:44) Chapter 2(00:09:07) Chapter 3(00:17:58) Chapter 4(00:23:44) Chapter 5(00:28:58) Chapter 6(00:41:19) Chapter 7(00:51:31) Chapter 8(01:01:41) Chapter 9(01:11:05) Chapter 10(01:22:54) Chapter 11(01:31:39) Chapter 12(01:35:28) Chapter 13(01:44:10) Chapter 14(01:51:00) Chapter 15(02:00:02) Chapter 16(02:18:00) Chapter 17(02:24:57) Chapter 18(02:52:12) Chapter 19(03:03:37) Chapter 20(03:12:56) Chapter 21(03:23:33) Chapter 22(03:32:59) Chapter 23(03:41:25) Chapter 24(03:51:34) Chapter 25(03:59:24) Chapter 26(04:11:25) Chapter 27(04:18:09) Chapter 28(04:26:02) Chapter 29(04:39:27) Chapter 30(04:45:47) Chapter 31(04:54:03) Chapter 32(05:02:10) Chapter 33(05:11:41) Chapter 34(05:23:03) Chapter 35(05:39:04) Chapter 36(05:50:13) Chapter 37(05:58:36) Chapter 38(06:05:10) Chapter 39(06:13:04) Chapter 40(06:22:05) Chapter 41(06:34:32) Chapter 42(06:44:29) Chapter 43(07:09:27) Chapter 44(07:21:33) Chapter 45(07:30:42) Chapter 46(07:46:41) Chapter 47(08:07:09) Chapter 48(08:19:38) Chapter 49(08:31:02) Chapter 50(08:42:03) Chapter 51(08:52:12) Chapter 52(09:07:25) Chapter 53(09:22:20) Chapter 54(09:30:31) Chapter 55(09:42:11) Chapter 56(09:56:55) Chapter 57(10:06:06) Chapter 58(10:18:48) Chapter 59(10:31:37) Chapter 60(10:39:33) Chapter 61 Learn more about your ad choices. War of the Worlds by H. G. Wells ~ Full Audiobook [scifi]

War of the Worlds by H. G. Wells audiobook. Genre: scifiH. G. Wells wrote The War of the Worlds in 1898, when there was much speculation about life on the planet Mars. The book is considered to be one of the first science fiction novels. In the story, an English gentleman narrates the events of a violent and fast paced Martian invasion. The frightening images of people fleeing from gigantic tripod machines and the prospect of life under Martian rule have served as a bottomless well of inspiration for popular culture. The novel has served as a template for many derivative or inspired works, including comics, countless books, a TV series, several films, a bestselling musical, and the famous Orson Wells broadcast. Overall, The War of the Worlds has become an early milestone in and inspiration for the invasion genre. The novel demonstrates Wells' typical pessimistic outlook on human nature and offers a good deal of criticism on society and people's ignorance and vanity. The War of the Worlds can be read as an indictment of European colonial actions around the globe at that time - with which the injustice of the Martian invasion can be compared. Wells has since been credited with predicting quite a number of technologies, such as laser-like rays, industrial robot-like machines, and chemical-warfare.For ad-free listening try our premium subscription Chapters (Approximate)(00:00:00) Chapter 1(00:15:40) Chapter 2(00:25:07) Chapter 3(00:32:04) Chapter 4(00:40:03) Chapter 5(00:50:19) Chapter 6(00:56:16) Chapter 7(01:05:09) Chapter 8(01:12:03) Chapter 9(01:25:08) Chapter 10(01:39:19) Chapter 11(01:52:08) Chapter 12(02:15:43) Chapter 13(02:28:15) Chapter 14(02:52:20) Chapter 15(03:11:35) Chapter 16(03:39:49) Chapter 17(04:02:02) Chapter 18(04:18:55) Chapter 19(04:41:04) Chapter 20(04:53:49) Chapter 21(05:04:48) Chapter 22(05:11:37) Chapter 23(05:20:14) Chapter 24(05:54:26) Chapter 25(06:14:53) Chapter 26(06:26:45) Chapter 27 Learn more about your ad choices.
